Yeah Pepper was basically the person I liked best out of the entire MCU (Until Black Panther came in).

She's gone and so is my interest (Until Black Panther)

Maybe it's not entirely fair to judge her by what the media reports (and of course, by GOOP) but.. I wouldn't be surprised if she were difficult to work with. She doesn't sound very in touch with any sort of reality beyond her privileged, rich background and she has some really bizarre ideas. Steam cleaning your vagina, anyone?

I'm pretty into Hollywood gossip, but I've never heard any particular rumor that she's hard to work with. I've only really heard the opposite. She may seem snooty and uptight, but is actually really easy going. And I'm not saying she's perfect or never done or said anything wrong (Goop), but I wouldn't believe the rumors.

I would mind them recasting either. Too bad Rachel McAdams was already in Doctor Strange (she was the director's first choice).

People get that impression because of her site where she tries to be a guru or whatever. She tries to appeal to the common folk but her advice requires large amounts of money most people could never afford.

People that detached from reality are definitely not down to earth or humble about their privilege which probably does make them difficult.

It could end up being satisfying if Tony reaches the end of his story in the MCU ready to really retire this time and it's implied that Pepper would give him another chance, but it seems likely that happen with just mentions of her, unfortunately.

Considering how women Actors are paid in Hollywood I'm more inclined to believe she's trying to be paid her worth and the studio doesn't want to.

Then again maybe she had the foresight to use money to get out of the Marvel Universe while the going was good.

The fact that the MCU has gotten rid of most of its love interests makes me think it isn't the fact that Paltrow might be hard to work with.

I found her a boring and bland love interest, tbh. Then again, I found the Iron Man movies to be pretty bland in general, relying on predictably quippy humor to clunk the plot forward.

Paltrow may or may not have demanded too much money, but doesn't that also describe the Iron Man actor too? I thought he was demanding super ridiculous amounts of money.

RDJ? Yeah, but they probably give him what he wants because Iron Man got insanely popular and Iron Man was the first of the Marvel universe movies.

I think they'd only pull all the stops to keep their big names around not so much the side characters which is why Rhodey was replaced and Pepper is out.

I don't know the reasons for her leaving but I will miss her if she never comes back, I like Pepper and her relationship with Tony. Oh well at least I still have Rhodey.

I don't want them to recast the role. I find it really confusing when movies do that, because I can't help but read the new actor as being a separate character. (Like, I completely missed until my third rewatch of the Iron Man trilogy that the dude in IM1 was supposed to be Rhodey.) It's very distracting.

I really loved Paltrow as Pepper. She was one of my favorite MCU characters. I know she's a loon irl, but I take any gossip with a grain of salt, because she's a good actor and she's had a very successful career.

I guess it's not unusual for celebs to act really entitled and spoiled but it always makes me sad to hear some of them are difficult to work with.

Am I the only one who just feels sorry for Paltrow? Like all Hollywood actresses seem to go one of two ways - plastic surgery or they start desperately pursuing crazy fads and 'natural' therapies. All to try and slow down the ageing process. 'Tossing pennies into the fountain of youth' as that song puts it.

Hollywood is a brutal industry, especially if you're an aging actress. I'm not surprised that Paltrow and many others lose their heads on this stuff. I don't think it makes her a bad person.

No. Either write her out or meet her demands. She's played Pepper too long now to recast her. Terrance Howard was only in ONE film. So Cheadle was easy to get used as the new Rhodey.

I remember reading in one of the gossip mags that she was worried about ScarJo upstaging her or something like that?

Like she was supposedly pissed at how Black Widow was pushed to the forefront in the marketing ('cause of her hotness.)

But yeah, probably bullshit.
