No, Yotsuba is the the main character of a manga written by the same person who did Azumanga Daioh. 4chan adopted her as their mascot, and then put her on their 404 page, presumably because "yotsuba" = "four lobed" (as in a four-lead clover).

T!B4. As an active member of mylar_fic who knows relatively little about mytwoheroes, I can only say that it seems to me that sex (and the power dynamics, intimacy issues, and tension-release conflicts that come with it) is more integral to the Mylar relationship. With MattMo, sex is more likely to be about stuff that could apply to most (gay) couples (with canon het backgrounds), so it might not strike as much of an emotional chord with readers. I don't mean to bash MattMo (I think it's cute), I just think there's a difference between it and Mylar that is visible in how the fanbase reacts to sex between the characters.

The sex is different, I agree.

At mylar_fic people squee over everything. Even badly written and implausible, fluffy fanfics as long as it's filled with fucking. I really like the people and I'm happy they r&r my stuff, they leave fun comments. At the same time, I now think there is no accounting for taste and I can't tell if my writing is actually good or not because a dire fic will get the same response. I just feel the MattMo people are more restrained with their praise and only comment on fic that is actually good. Since they don't comment on mine then maybe that's my answer.

156: I've had experiences like that too, when I was younger. I think it's because society conditions us to only see romantic possibilities between men and women in any sort of fiction. Once I learned to spot subtext regardless of gender, it felt sort of like waking up, in a small way, heh.

TB7: I don't think the sexuality for any of those characters has been mentioned, though... Well, most of them like women, we know that, but we've not been told whether they like men too.

Also, some people discover new things about their sexuality late in life.

As for yaoi fans, we hate OOC as much as the next person. It's not about who a character falls for, it's how they act while doing it.
