It's not the legality of it that's the issue. Maybe men and women are wired differently in this respect, but speaking for myself, I was never turned off so fast as when I realised the cute guy I was having a drink with was an infant when I was 20.

Oh, yeah, I absolutely get that, too. That can be a very tough mental block to shake. And that sort of age gap can make it harder in terms of compatibility for some people as well, because it can lead to generational differences in terms of interests and reference points and whatnot. There's definitely plenty of other valid reasons why some people struggle with age gaps when it comes to who they're attracted to/want to date that are worth considering.

Just simply saying that whether it's an older man/younger woman or older woman/younger man, if they're both adults, then I don't see the problem in the mere attraction (or interest in dating( they'd have towards each other in and of itself, is all.

There's no reason to. First, if they are an adult, I just don't see any reason to feel bad. Second, a celebrity crush is even more removed than a crush on that one person you liked in high school that you never actually spoke to. You don't really know this person, so it likely won't evolve beyond a crush. Third, very little chance of meeting them and having anything happen.

On a side note, I still have a crush on Jordan Catalano. I was 19 when My So-Called Life aired. Jordan Catalano is still the same age (17? 18?) as he was then if I watch an episode now. Jared Leto was 23 at the time. I don't see any reason to feel bad about that - I know it's not quite the same thing, but it feels like it deals with some of the same feelings.

I hear you. I'm 50 and I like crushing on older men but there are fewer of those every year, because that's how time works. My current celebrity crushes (all in the same band) are close to my age which spares me from feeling too pervy right now, but... yeah, I'm old.

I can relate to this. Seems like I crush on guys in their mid-thirties. Great, when I was in my twenties and thirties. Slightly weird in my forties. Now I'm in my fifties & that's still the age I like. Oh, well, c'est la vie. I don't care any longer how odd it is, I'm just having fun.

I can definitely relate! ;) I remember everyone I liked used to be older than me...now I have to constantly check that actors are 'within range' so I don't feel gross. *lol* BUT! As many have said: fantasy is fantasy, crushes are crushes, and though some criticize, as a whole, there are few who stop or condemn men liking/lusting/being with women 10+ younger than they are. Furthermore: as long as you are not doing something to someone who cannot consent, do you! ;)
