Yeah, the "best battle system" bit kind of made me...raise an eyebrow. Admittedly I didn't play a whole ton of FFIX, so maybe my memory is just faulty, but I don't remember finding the engine...even mildly impressive, let alone one of the best ever.

Yes. Exactly. I'm exactly the same, and that's why I love Martha so much. She caused a lot of wank and bile, but I love her absolutely because I can relate to her so much when it comes to her feelings for the Doctor. He's brilliant, and wonderful, and cares for her, but they're never on equal terms.

I didn't cry for Snape because his death scene was so terribly written. Also, Joseph Campbell's "The Hero With A Thousand Faces" is permenantly branded on my brain, so I KNEW Snape and Dumbledore were both doomed since book 1. AND I WAS 12 YEARS OLD AT THE TIME.
