167. IX is my second favorite FF (VI will always hold the number one spot). The characters were fun and interesting, the game was full of fun throwbacks and references to previous FFs, the bad guys were interesting and actually had solid goals they were working towards... all good stuff!

I think the reason some people seem to hate it so much is because for the most part it's a HAPPY game. Despite all the destruction and the somber moments that take place, the characters don't spent all their time moping around. Zidane, desipte a brief period of depression towards the end over his origin, is happy-go-lucky from the beginning. Eiko, despite being the last known survivor of her village, is cheerful and friendly. Vivi, despite being from a race that was created to destroy and may "stop moving" at any time, is nice and shy and awkward. None of the characters and dark and depressing ...but as we all know true art is angsty.

Also, holy crap, when every single airship showed up toward the end of the game? Best scene in any FF ever.

So, uh, yeah... FFIX is awesome.

141. Ion is alright. I'm not very fond of the Imperials of Trinity Blood, except for Gyula and Süleyman. And my absolute adoration to Esther's OTL BFF, Shahrzad. Obviously, yuri hints were icky for Gonzo and removed her from existence.

...anyway, of course you don't have to convert. Play like you wanna play! Our group is just now starting a 3.5 game (or will be as soon as our warblade gets off his lazy ass and finishes his character).

4E is worth taking a look at, at least. The skills revamp is a vast improvement, and the powers system is pretty interesting, too. But honestly, I'm so spoiled by the massive amount of stuff available for 3.5 that even if I do convert to 4E, it'll be a looong time.

I really hope this animated secret trend doesn't catch on because it's gonna suck waiting for a few seconds for each secret to finish or restart so I can read them. it's only a few seconds but it's gonna add up dklsjkda.

FFIX is my favourite game ever. PERIOD. Despite its flaws, it's just so awesome and I completely agree with you on just about everything you said. I have so much love for that game. As for how influential it's been on me, well...just look at the username. ^^;

146. It wasn't a bad series, but it's main problem was that it came after Batman: The Animated Series. It's hard to top that.

But yes, it's far better than most of the comics continuity nowadays. Not that that's saying much.

104) B-5 is the standard I hold all TV shows up to. So far none have reached this level of perfection, though a few have come within eyeball distance. Seriously, B-5 foreshadowed events that happened in the FOURTH SEASON in the FIRST EPISODE. Plotwise that is just freaking incredible.

120) If Yahtzee reviews your game at all you take it as an enormous compliment. He only can review one game a week, and he's got a ton to choose from. Also, he nitpicks and sneers at everything, that's just part of his schtick.

Y'know, I never thought about it this way. I think you may be right. Add to that the fact that [at least in my perception] a great deal of anime is about people going off and having adventures and doing COOL THINGS that not everyone else does, and you have something perfect for people who spend a lot of time in the same locations, doing the same things many different ways (get up, sit at computer, go to {school/work}, come home, sit at computer, sleep, repeat. Sleep optional.)
