MARRY ME.

I think that's it's all well and good that they enjoy themselves with obsessing over Rikkai, but I'll admit I really don't like it that most of them hate Seigaku for, y'know, trying to achieve their dreams. :(

144. Don't worry, Anon!! I loved this movie far more than both Iron Man and Indiana Jones combined! I only saw either of those once. Speedy, though, I went back to see again. And again. And again! Until finally, I saw it an obscene amount of times and could probably watch it in my head! XD

I firmly believe that anyone who didn't enjoy this movie went in *expecting* not to enjoy it. That's the unfortunate power critics have over people. People judge a movie before even seeing it because someone who's old and no fun said the movie was bad. Some people just have no ability to decide whether or not they like something themselves.

And yes, Emile was stunning with that magical curl in his hair and those unrealistically tight shirts X3

Re: 144.

(Anonymous) 2008-06-18 06:38 am (UTC)(link)
Not the OP, but I'm a fellow fan of the movie too. I would like to say that I have to agree. I went in the movie literally having no expectations.

And it did not disappoint. Not only as a Speed Racer fan, but also as KPOP fan. ♥

lol @ Unrealistic Expecations!people

Abe Sapien - I'd hit that in a scuba suit.

Avatar RPG - I was actually there the other day scooping it out and I had Patrick Stewart's voice in my head screaming "What the F*** is this S***?!?!" Needless to say, both he and I left quickly.

What is that script font, I love it. Also I had no idea House had BNFs

113. akdjagfakjsfaskjfkjafhsakj what

SGJHSDJKG WHAT

SOMEHOW I NEVER GOT THE NEWS OF THAT EXISTING. I need that book like BURNING now (and lol, I'll probably ship it too. Your thoughts on Grakkar/Snout? XDDDD)

115. The two of those I recognize = hot. Don't feel bad. :>

120. Y-yes thank you. I can spot some differences in some of the faces, but my god...

126. Well, what animes do you like? There are a lot of good ones that have reasonably-sized fandoms, or at least SOME fans that could keep you company. If we have a fandom in common, I'd love to. :3 (Also, that picture is socute, but I have no idea where to find the canon...)

128. ... I have no idea of your reasoning here. :|

129. I don't think it's so weird! The Reborn mafia family =/= a real mafia family, so it's not unhealthy per se. They have a lovely family dynamic, they're all so there for each other (uh, mostly XD)- what's not to envy?

Also, that art is wicked gorgeous, jkshgsgkhfa do you happen to have a clean copy? *v*

131. My first thought upon seeing this secret: "I just snogged the Madame du Pompadour!" XD

132. If therapists don't believe you when you try to explain yourself, I- I think they're doing it wrong. D: That sucks... I bet you are sympathetic!

139. You hate it when... other people enjoy something you don't? Other people don't share your preference? Cry moar, seriously. What other people like? Doesn't effect you or "hurt your ship" or any such ridiculousness. And that said, is it Mello/Near that you think is the perfect couple ever? Have you READ THAT CANON AT ALL? Geez, I love that pairing and I KNOW it's screwed.

143. XD After doing even a little bit of research, it's... not hard to figure out what's going on. The only bit that's confusing is Asuka's last line, really, and that's because everyone involved (both voice actresses and the creator) have admitted that they have no idea wtf that line is actually supposed to mean, so it's literally the most open-ended thing ever. (Is she disgusted? Sympathetic? Both? Pregnant? All three? akjsfsakf) Still, it's... a really cool plot but it's not exactly impossible to understand, more people should get it than do. :/

Also, under the risk of sounding like a really, really pathetic fangirl: Sob Kaworu. ):

147. You are not alone in this regard. That said, I do love to put characters I love through TONS OF BAD SHIT up to and including rape and torture, but I don't want to rape them, and I don't get off to their pain. I just love the psychological reactions and the way their relationships with other people change. Is that so bad~?

156. ... oh my god they're ADORABLE who are they? ♥~

160. Aw, but what's wrong with shipping Shakespearean characters? (:

168. Oh man you rock.

170. People in that fandom seem to think you're only a real fan if you hate one or more of those listed, yes. I really have no idea why, they'd make an epic team! (THE DOCTOR WOULD BE SO. SO TOPPED.)

175. I don't think it really matters what you ship? That is kind of an interesting split, though, to have anime/manga/game (presumably) ships be mostly yaoi and otherwise be mostly het. I wonder why?

Also, I have no idea what planet you're on that Legolas/Gimli isn't popular. I thought they were a HUGE ship in that fandom. o_o

not!secret #1: IAWTC OH MY GOD. I don't even mind seeing self-insert stuff, as long as the author/artist is just doing it for fun. It can be cute, and it's not hurting anything. But HOLY SHIT is that girl worrisome. I'm less annoyed at the way she makes other people think of Syaoran fans, though, and more for her own mental health. Because you're right, that's just UNSTABLE.

PSA: So, so, so, so, so, so, so, so much agreement. Fay can totally seme Kurogane whenever he feels like it and Kurogane LOVES IT. Even if he doesn't want to. Fuck "Seme/Uke" with a sharp pointy stick.

I'm with you! I want them all to exchange witty banter, save the universe(s) and then go have some tea afterwards. Nothing would make me happier.

107. I agree with your sentiment, OP. ♥

137. I LOL'd at rick-rolled.

142. :(

168. That's awesome. Congratulations!

105 - I'm shopping for a corset precisely because of that series too!

170- Whoever made this secret is made of win and awesome!! New Who tea party anyone?

The first time I saw that film, I wept because I identified with her so strongly, and it scared the shit out of me. But like you, I was so thankful that she existed.

104. Holy shit, Strangers in Paradise. That takes me back. (I stopped keeping up with them well before they got together, though.)

160. Argh, now I'm remembering the production we saw in high school, where the actor playing Iago was a poor actor, wearing tight tights, and, er, having WAY TOO MUCH FUN in the role. So honestly, my mental association with Iago will forever be "giant boner, otherwise dull". Even if that's so not useful.

108

[identity profile] elizardbits.livejournal.com 2008-06-18 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
So... wait. You're disappointed that more medical dramas don't only exist inside the imaginations of little retarded boys with snowglobes? Mkay.

*snicker*

123. Hijikata! <3 Agreed, he would make a nice husband. Just...don't let him near your food. Unless you like mayo.

And how many Doctor Who fans are going to rush out and read this book after this secret?

Re: 131

[identity profile] archerstar.livejournal.com 2008-06-18 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
You know, I've read all of those books and I don't remember the Doctor Who references. I remember the awesomeness of the books and how much they made me laugh, but no Doctor Who.

117, 143

[identity profile] aquadyne.livejournal.com 2008-06-18 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
117. I often feel some sort of yearning when I see a lot of big brothers in anime/manga, because my older brother isn't very protective of me, and doesn't even seem to care about me a whole lot. I sympathize.

143. I understand a lot of the main themes and psychological explorations of the characters; it's a lot of minor stuff I get caught on, though those small bits aren't necessarily less important. But yeah, I've always found it a little weird when people say it's impossible to get anything out of it. There's a hella lot I'm still racking my brain over, but the main stuff I can get fine, I'm pretty sure.

172 - RPS used to squick me, too. Then I found J2 fandom, and it changed my mind.

As for moral compasses, who needs 'em? The purpose of fandom is to throw them out, anyway!
