144. It was on tv last night!

128. The Outers are some of my favorites, and without them I don't think Sailor Moon would be as interesting and dynamic. I love Usagi and the Inners, but they all have the same philosophy -- everyone is inherently good, everyone can be saved. While that is a beautiful message, the Inners' belief would have less meaning without the foil of the Outers' "do anything at all costs for the mission" outlook.

These two opposing philosophies are why I love the S season so much. Slapstick comedy and schoolgirl woes are fun, but the fight between the Inners and the duo of Uranus and Neptune is why I watch and rewatch the third season. It's also why Uranus is by far my favorite character. I don't feel that Neptune questions her "do or die" philosophy except when it comes to Uranus, but we see Haruka struggle with guilt all throughout the fight against the Messiah of Silence. A part of her wants to believe Usagi when she says she'll save the world, and another part feels remorse over "dirty hands," but Haruka is too jaded and stubborn to change her ways. Some people may say that Uranus and Neptune are too cold and perfect compared to the Inners. I feel that it's a mask they put up, especially in the case of Uranus.

I don't know if I agree with the general idea of your secret, but you're right. Everyone else's love in the books is either selfish or conceited.

I mean Rosalie and Emmett are not worth discussing, but even the generally "selfless" Carlisle was selfish to change Esme. By changing her he risked creating a vampire who would not agree to be "vegetarian" and so risked thousands of people lives just because he considered himself in love with a near-corpse who he had seen only once before when she was a teenager. And if Rosalie and her seven victims is really the person with the second cleanest record in the family, Esme has killed people.

As for Alice and Jasper - Alice believes that the world rotates around her and the only important thing is her happiness. "You kept me waiting" indeed. She uses her visions as self-fulfilling prophecies and sometimes not even that. The whole blown-up wedding plan is a prime example of that.

None but Edward and Bella even stop to consider what is right over what makes them happy.

I only liked Good Omens due to Pratchett. I've tried reading the Sandman comics and there was just so much pretension there. American Gods is enough to send me into fits of rage at the rape of mythology.

As to his fans, in the comments alone I've seen a few who would be an embarrassment to any fandom but, also in the comments, I've seen a few that are quite wonderful.
