Oh, but there's so many versions of that song just sung by Jimmy Durante alone! There's the standard version, the tragic funeral dirge version, the version he sings with the kid audience where I'm pretty sure one of the kids ships Jimmy with Frosty... the list goes on!

Yesss, I really hate this song as well. I am not very fond of most American Christmas songs in general but this one is one of the worst (I also have a special hatred for Rudolph and White Christmas).

I don't see how it's even considered a Christmas song, tbh, it doesn't reference Christmas/Jesus at all. But then there are a few songs like that, that are still considered Christmas songs:
Let It Snow
Sleigh Ride
Jingle Bells
Winter Wonderland
Baby It's Cold Outside
Linus And Lucy (granted, this one is probably because of A Charlie Brown Christmas)

* "Oh Holy Night," a low-rent alternative to Ave Maria favored by church singers out of their depth.
* Any version of "Santa Baby" that doesn't involve Eartha Kitt

Oddly haven't heard that one yet this year... though I have heard Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas about three times today, and I'm only on my half. (I work retail... surprisingly no Christmas music until December this year.)

Long as we're all sharing Xmas songs we hate -

-Santa Baby
-The Christmas Shoes
-All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth (yes, there are modern covers of this, sung by adults, that play in retail stores)
-Any cover of All I Want For Christmas Is You because they are not Mariah Carey

And to end on a positive note, my favorite is "All I Need Is Love" with the muppets.

I remember when I was in a grocery store with my dad, and I was ranting about how annoying all the Christmas music was...and then the next song they played was the Grinch song. Made me wonder if someone in charge of the music somehow heard me.
