Several surprising movies and even things like anime have been made into theater musicals. What do you think should go Broadway?

I am here for a Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time musical! Though...for all I know there is one already.

I'd like to see a horror movie made into a stage musical. Are there any horror stage musicals? I think Nightmare on Elm Street would lend itself the most to musicals because all the singing could happen in the dreams. And you could go crazy as fuck on the setting/costuming during those parts.

There's a musical about zombies, or something. All I know is that there is a song called "What the fuck was that?! And now my sister's a zombie".

So I guess horror/comedy?

Also, Re-Animator: The Musical and Silence! The Musical (though that's more of a parody of Silence of the Lambs than just a musical adaptation).

I'm not really sure if Little Shop of Horrors would count. The musical is based on a 1960 film, but a lot was changed. The 1986 film was based on the musical.

Does "Repo! The Genetic Opera" have a stage version, I wonder?
Then there's Sweeney Todd which is kind of horror as well, what with the mass murdering and people eating.
There are also several vampire themed musicals, a Jekyll and Hyde musical and I think I vaguely remember hearing something about a Frankenstein musical?

I'd be surprised if the Pitch Perfect series hasn't been pitched (haha) to Broadway yet, though that one would not be surprising.

Pitch Perfect has all the foundation to make a fantastic musical. Though, the only caveat is, part of the plot is that they only use remixes of existing songs instead of original songs, right? So you'd either have to abandon that plot and rework it completely to be all original songs, or get a lot of rights..

I think a lot of classic YA fiction could work as stage musicals?

In particular, I would like to see a musical adaptation of The Westing Game. could be really good.

I don't care what series of if it's an original story. I want theater to be up to the challenge of having giant flying mecha laser space fights on stage.

Ever since I listened to Meat Loaf's "Everything louder than everything else" I wanted there to be a musical version of the first Iron Man movie with that song being the finale of the first act.
It's completely silly but it amuses me.

I'm surprised FMA doesn't have a musical considering how many less popular anime do.

The Last Unicorn. I just watched it yesterday but I think the story has great potential for a musical as long as there's new songs written for it. Barring the opening, the songs in the movie aren't that good.

I have thought about this before.

Captain America, in his 1940's adventures. Closing with the promise that he "will" return, a bit like King Arthur.

The Highlander mythos, using Queen's music of course. I also would to incorporate the Kanwulf story from the TV series.

I can confirm that Mean Girls makes a fantastic musical and I can't wait for it to premiere on Broadway so that everyone else can enjoy it too.

The 1987 movie Mannequin would make a brilliant stage musical and I'm legitimately disappointed it hasn't happened yet.
