The Last Airbender, because I had seen the trailer for the movie and wrote it off quickly.

Breaking Bad. I didn't watch it until right before the last (half) season. Binged it in like....a week.

Also, Game of Thrones. I usually hate fantasy but I fell in love with it!

You binged the whole Breaking Bad series in a week?????

Final Fantasy XV. I mocked my wife for *months* for being kinda hype about it, then I watched her play it. I had to eat those words.

Harry Potter. The concept sounded stupid to me. (This was just before the books started gaining traction, so I'd never heard of them before.)

I'm the biggest Harry Potter dork ever now.

Yeah, when the books first got massively popular, I was the stubborn, contrary little kid who insisted they sounded dumb and I wasn't interested. Then I read the first couple pages of book one while standing in a bookstore, and something just clicked in my brain and suddenly I was obsessed.

Same! I was apparently quite the hipster at age ten, but then my sister left the first book lying around and I read the first few pages of the Halloween chapter... and then finished it. And then had to start again at the beginning.

Silent Hill. I actually saw the movie first (I know, it wasn't great but my friends took me and I felt like I couldn't say no) and was prepared to leave early due to being too scared. I wound up enjoying it and went on to have a great time with the games. (Well, 1 through 4 at least.)

You know, I've never asked but what did you think about the second SH film?

I didn't actually see it. I heard so much bad about it that I didn't want to spend money on it. I should probably watch it eventually.

Honestly, I was the same way. I finally watched it last year.

It's really as bad everyone says. =(

The only good things were the Robbie the Rabbit costume (ROBBIE THE RABBIT TERRIFIES ME) and the scene where Heather tries to avoid getting sliced up by the nurses. The rest of the film is hot garbage. (Douglas doesn't even have that big of a role! And Vincent's character was completely changed omg whyyyyyy???)

Well, at least the movie led you to the first four games, which are awesome. :) I know 4 was really divisive and had some dodgy gameplay choices (escort missions, nooo) but I find myself liking it more every playthrough. Can I ask which is your favourite of the 4?

I liked 4 a lot actually. I think because I liked the main characters a lot, even Eileen.

My favorite is probably 2, because it has such a good story. About halfway through I started suspecting what they were leading up to and I still enjoyed the whole game. I'm really fond of 3 also though.

But I only played them all once. I'm just not very good at games so I seldom replay them. I wrote a lot of fic though!

Yeah, I liked everyone in 4 too. It gets picked on a lot and treated like a black sheep, but some of the scares (the hauntings in particular) are so subtle and effective IMO, and the random element makes for great replay value. Will never forget being 14 and going "I'm sure that rabbit wasn't pointing at me before."

2 is fantastic and still my favourite. It's such a shame that the movies tried to tackle the complicated storylines of 1/3 (and made such a mess of it) when 2 alone could have made such a brilliant, self-contained little psychological horror flick. :(

The Lord of The Rings movies, teenage me wanted super High-Fantasy and thought it'd be lame. Teenage me was so, so wrong and I fell in love.

Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2, I can get wigged out by zombies sometimes so I didn't think I'd like the game at all because of it but I wasted so many hours playing that one year. It's so much fun.

Borderlands 2. Granted it's taken me a while to finish the main game but I don't really like FPS games much so I wasn't sure I'd like it but it really won me over. It's a great game.

I thought for a long time that I would hate the Silmarillion then I read it.

I caught a small bit of a Doctor Who episode a while ago, thought it looked cheesy. Then I started from the beginning of New Who and ended up loving it. Yes, it is still cheesy. But good cheesy.

The Left 4 Dead games. I'm kind of a wuss so I don't usually tend to gravitate towards anything scary. But after watching my husband play, I eventually tried it out myself and loved them. This goes for most zombie media too.

Yeah, I got halfway through season one when it was new, and gave up on it. I came back for some reason years later and just couldn't stop. Now it's getting really crazy, lol. I never thought the plot would have so many twists!

I'm a child of the 70s, also known as the decade of 17.000 lame cop shows, so my best friend had to talk me into watching CSI. I wound up liking it a lot.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians books. I avoided them thinking they'd be stupid after hearing Poseidon was "a beach surfer wearing sandals" or something. Don't love 'em, but they were fun and the humor was great.

The newer ones...dunno what it says about me, but seeing R.O.F.L., "a flame war on Twitter," and "(name)'s feels"...gosh I'm not the audience.
