The concept of loving a celebrity in a way that has no relation whatsoever to who they are as a person, and to the extent that you'll aggressively reject any information about who they are, seems pretty fucked to me

I, too, am capable of separating fantasy from reality; I can enjoy Josh Brolin and Tom Cruise and Mel Gibson movies, and understand that one bad facet doesn't magically negate all of a human being's existence, because people are complex and capable of both good and evil. But this is the internet, so fuck that noise. He did some shitty things! Burn all his movies! Throw shit at his mother! Harass anyone who ever said a kind word about him, especially the charities! Life is about extremes!

As for Depp, if he's still got a career then it's likely he hasn't been proven guilty of anything yet. I don't know because I don't care enough to look into it. Maybe JKR and fans are withholding judgment until they know more?

Ignoring his personal life....the character design is fucking hideous. I don't understand why anyone could see that and think "Obviously this is someone that Jude Law could fall in love with. A bloated, albino 60 year old with the haircut of a 12 year old and the mustache of a child molester."

One, I think this is actually just not true. Two, I think it's important to keep in mind that there's a difference between "proof" and 'reasonable kudent".
