Yeah who cares about consent and dignity if they are famous. lets put their face on a porn actress and make it look like your favorite tv or movie star is getting fucked up the ass by a pig. And if the famous person complains we will just body and kink shame them until they no longer have a career. But I am sure no woman would complain because we all know how well they are treated in Hollywood and society in general.weq

This.

do you have similar objections to fanart that depicts famous celebrities (or characters that they've played) fucking?

If not, where do you actually draw the line between that? how much realism is too much?

(Anonymous) 2018-02-02 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
I have no problem with fanart of fictional characters. But fanart of actual people/celebs in their personal lives? Yeah, that's pretty fucking creepy.

Though at least for fanart you can tell it's fake, but this realistic looking porn that some people are going to believe is real... how can you defend that?

Personally I find it distasteful since they are real people who deserve private lives. But at least with drawings it clear that they didn't participate. But with how good AI is becoming and how depraved some people are even if it's proven that a live action pig fucking with your favorite star was photoshopped not everyone will believe it's fake. And something like that will follow their career around for a long long time. How often when you google a tv star's name does fanart pop up vs. some big scandal they were involved with even if they were innocent?

NAYRT, but I would be fine with porn of characters that my favorite actors had played. Actually, minus the digital face editing, I’m pretty sure some must already exist, although I’ve never gone looking. But porn that had been edited to “star” the actors would be skeevy in the same way as RPF manips, with added “using actors’ likenesses against their will to make a profit that they don’t see a cent of” financial fuckery.

On the other hand, the increase in this kind of photoshop porn is directly proportional to claim fake any time a real sex tape/sex pics of you come out, a la the "Fappening" or whatever

(Anonymous) 2018-02-02 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, ask yourself how YOU would feel if there was fake porn using your face.
If it creeps you out then you shouldn't be so excited about it.

What if it doesn't creep me out?

(Anonymous) 2018-02-02 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
Then put your SO, Parent, Child, Best Friend, or anyone you love in the nastiest fuck film you can imagine. You really would be OK with knowing someone took your SO's face and did Scat porn with it?

What if OP gets excited about fake porn using their own face?

(Anonymous) 2018-02-02 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
Then go make a porn with their own face. Just leave out people who don't consent.

(Anonymous) 2018-02-02 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
I only scanned through the article but if it's actually open source, you could probably do it yourself right now, it just might not look good and might take several days/weeks/months to render. Also, AI-assisted is a stupid phrase.

I just find this whole concept so fascinating. Skeevy, yeah, but super interesting at the same time.

Like, in practical terms, what's the difference between using rendering software to create porn of Chris Hemsworth fucking Tom Hiddleston, and using photo editing software to create a photo manip of the same thing? And morally, what's the difference between creating a render/manip of two actors fucking, and creating an RPF erotica story about the same thing? Is the latter okay because it isn't a visual representation? What if that RPF story is written in such a way as to suggest it really happened, like through the use of fake headlines and citations? Are none of them okay? Is it okay only if it's clear that what's depicted is a fictional creation?

(Anonymous) 2018-02-02 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
Photo manips of actors are just as creepy and cringeworthy but inserting them into real porn without their permission is obviously the next level of disgusting behavior.

I can only imagine people are trying to justify it because it's the perfect way to make their masturbation fantasies more realistic. Thirsting over actors/actresses personal lives to this point would only make the actors that people claim to be fans of extremely uncomfortable.

RPF shippers are already viewed as scum for this reason. Because they invade certain boundaries that should not be crossed by pushing their fantasies onto real people without consent. It's not right.

Let me put it this way... if you met a certain actor/actress and you could not show them what you are doing to them (such as porn manips) then you are a creep who is crossing boundaries. Don't try to justify it. Why is it so fucking difficult to separate actors from the characters they play? Are you people incapable of making the distinction?
soldatsasha: (Default)

[personal profile] soldatsasha 2018-02-02 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah but that's like entirely my point, dude. I'm not trying to justify shit, you're the one flailing at some straw man you've constructed based off of nothing in my comment.

Why is it creepy but ultimately fine to make cringey RPF photo manips, but not to video edit their faces on some porn stars? Why is it totally normal (in fandom at least) to DRAW explicit art of a character using an actor's likeness, but rendering it is "the next level" of disgusting behavior. It's literally the same fucking thing. They're both creepy and weird.

There's a lot of people (myself included) who think any kind of RPF is creepy af and invasive af. I don't think it's acceptable to write stories about this shit. So obv I'm not cool with people doing photo manips or making weird porn vids.

But there's a whole hell of a lot of people who ship RPF or have no problem with other people shipping RPF. So who's right, the people who think ALL RPF is gross, like me? The people who are okay with some arbitrarily decided kinds of RPF but not okay with others? The people who think it's all fair game?

(Anonymous) 2018-02-02 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
Haven't people been doing this for years already with photoshop and porny fanart?

(Anonymous) 2018-02-02 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
Photoshop is nowhere near the same thing. People know about editing programs for awhile, anyone can mess around with it. Convincing video manips are much more recent and were probably more difficult to create.

It's harder to tell if it's fake unless you know the source of the porn or if the actor/actress has to deny it. They shouldn't have to go that far.

For regular folks, I think simulated revenge porn should be prosecuted as filmed/photographed revenge porn. I'm sure a lot of Hollywood folks have lawyers and agents to take care of that sort of thing.

Oh, and get rid of the ridiculous legal standard where teens who screw up and get caught sexting can be prosecuted for child porn production.

(Anonymous) 2018-02-02 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, no, I think teens who sext each other shouldn't be prosecuted, but the little shits who send it on to all their friends should be.

This reminds me of that article about people giving sex dolls pre-programmed personalities

Just super skeevy and it sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie with really unsubtle commentary

I only agree with this sort of thing when it's about fictional characters. Do you have a thing for Makoto from Free and want him pasted on a gay porn actor? Totally fine! Do you want Chris Hemsworth pasted on a gay porn actor? Eeeeh, not fine and actually creepy.
