Re: What is the most emotionally devastated you've been at a peice of media?

Oh god, that episode hurt. I'm sorry it hit you at that kind of time

In theory, I like Castiel.

In practice, there are long stretches of episodes where it's reeeeally obvious that the writers have no idea what to do with this game-balance-breakingly powerful character who is the best friend of the main characters.

Spoilers for the last season of Angel

Honestly, Fred dying. (Yes, even more than The Body.) It just...it took the whole episode, and it all felt like a ticking clock to the thing no one knew how to stop, and her last words, and just everything.

Illyria was cool, and the only character I think had a shot at living through the final battle we didn't get to see. But the way she arrived was an insane punch in the gut.

I don't get why he's such an entertainment news darling. The music is good, but not brilliant, even when given some of the best pop material to cover. A lot of the Dunkirk buzz was surprise that he didn't flub a dramatic acting part entirely. It's kind of like how everyone went nuts on Oprah Winfrey for president.

Nooo. That wasn't fucking fair.

Re: How detailed do you get when tagging smut?

(Anonymous) 2018-02-04 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
That seems like waaayyy overkill. I'll tag for specific kinks or sex acts that I think ~change it up enough that someone might either be specifically looking for OR I guess specifically trying to avoid (rimming, pegging, breathplay, etc), but like, positions? Fuck that.

You tell people what you think about and like about someone's work, or even how you'd transform it to your own tastes; and are then offended that they tell you what they think about what you just said, and what they dislike about it? Well, you could have kept your own mouth shut, yes?

She always looks so much happier now. It's really cute.

Now if only she and her sister would stop bringing bad fanfiction to life *cough*Jupiter Ascending*cough* and give us a better movie.

yep this is my method. plain old tab-A-slot-B smut inside a much larger and mostly gen fic just gets the generic, but total porn, I definitely tag the details because someone out there is going to go "yessss an X/Y fic that hits all my buttons!" I never take warning into account, just attracting people looking for what I gave them.

(Anonymous) 2018-02-04 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
If I remember correctly, he does both.

When Hughes died on FMA. I thought for sure he was gonna be okay, that somebody would find him in time. No way would they let the comic relief family man die. Yeah, I was so wrong and his death hurt me for days.

God, he's horrid. One of the most smarmy, infantile faces I've ever seen.

I wasn't as emotionally invested but that was how I felt when L died in Death Note. I kept thinking "Oh, he's not really dead, he's pretending to be dead and he's going to come back and surprise everybody." When I finally realized he was not going to do that I got very uninterested and never finished reading.

IMO it's not for people to avoid, but for people looking for specific types of porn. So if I'm in the mood to read some fingering, or blowjobs, or femdom or something, I look for porn with those tags. It's not like I won't read porn without those tags, but they help when I'm in a specific mood.

He's being pretty spiff in the newest season.

(Anonymous) 2018-02-04 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly. Because the second you make a single comment about your opinions, everyone else is entitled to dogpile you about other opinions that you never expressed and proceed to scold you like a naughty child for other peoples' opinions even if they're not the same as yours. That's the internet!

(Anonymous) 2018-02-04 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
Haha, I just started this series and I'm already wondering when Castiel is going to show up. He just seems like such a major part of the fandom, I didn't realize he wasn't a main character right away.

But the federal government still laws on marriage issues. No incest, no bigamy, no child marriage. So unless they are suggesting they'd be okay with all those laws removed, which is kind of gross at least with the last one, then they aren't really being consistent with their own philosophy.

Dead Poets Society. Quite a lot of the boys being forced to betray their mentor, but when Neil kills himself...holy fuck.

And the, of course, 'O Captain, my Captain....'
*fails*

Also, in a good way, when i was tiny; the ending of Born Free.

I tag ships, characters, and specific kinks if they are the focus of the fic.

[personal profile] tabaqui 2018-02-04 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
Good lord. That's way too much work. I only tag specific, more 'kinky' stuff, like 'bdsm' or 'spanking' or whatever. If it's just sex, various positions, penetration and/or oral, it just gets an 'explicit' rating and the 'ship. I'm not gonna tag all that other stuff.

I felt the same. I think the manga made L's death so abrupt and unexpected, I just assumed L had somehow secretly outwitted Light and was going to pop back. But no... really dead. The anime made it a lot more clear and gave it more build-up.

Oh man, does the Jayne actor have, err, strong views? Is he actually like his character irl?

Same. Death Note got really boring after L died.

SA I'm just confirming that OP is doing Supernatural wrong.
