Sex ed beyond how babies are made, abstinence, and "don't have sex and don't tempt boys."

Basic life skills like how to manage money and how to interview for a job.

Political history, both in your own country and in the world in general. Just, dealing with issues, politics, how to be a citizen, how we've gotten where we are now

international relations, just, about other countries and how your country relates with them.

How to think for yourself, how to question, how to analyze sources and make judgments.

How to write a resume and conduct yourself in job interviews.

I'm all in for politics driven space opera. ...presuming it doesn't revolve around space opera romance... BUT. If it doesn't I'm on it like flies on shit!

Why does colonisation sometimes take and sometimes not?

Like some countries, when the get colonised, seem to embrace the colonisers, but other countries will fight for generations against the invading country. What makes the difference?
