I can try to explain it, but it's hard to explain? I only had it during the Captain Hammer song in the third act though, not the entire show. During the song I started to feel embarrassed for what he was singing, like it made me uncomfortable HOW he was singing with the stops and the pauses and making up random stuff and squirmed a bit because of it. I had to skip it or else I would have been overwhelmed with the squick and I wanted to enjoy the rest of the show. :x

I was fine with the other songs though, and fine with him as an actor. It was just that scene and song, and probably how it was a public speech and have been taught never to talk that way through one and he was embarrassing himself? I DUNNO. It was weird even for me. XD;

Holy shit- I never thought anyone else would have ever heard of this. I took a course in Peking Opera, and I know and have performed some sequences out of a famous solo. I worked with Wen Chi Wu, the first woman in the Peking Opera circuit to have ever played a man's part.

And you're right, it was fucking amazing. And that picture is WIN.

Except half the class thought it was more amusing to talk about superheroes and pull down their pants and underwear in class. And thought that the singing style was LOl-worthy. I had never been so inclined to haul off and hit someone before.

113: I completely agree with you. When I first started reading PW fic and looking around at the fandom, I spent quite a lot of time reading the CR forums. Am I ever freaking glad that I looked at the LJ fandom as well -- if I'd based my opinion on the fandom solely on the complete stupidity of the people who regularly post on CR, I would never have gotten involved in it. And it totally worked out, because aside from CR, it's one of the best fandoms I've ever seen.

125: Yeah, I'm not wild about seeing this in slash fic in general, quite frankly. I tend to like power dynamics in sex/porn/whatever (het and slash, doesn't matter) in general, so I do enjoy having one partner be in control of the situation, but absolute top/bottom with those two is completely OOC.

Bleh, I'd say more, but then I'd ramble for days about my dislike of yaoi tropes.
