If I have to hear one more person gush over it,, I'll hold my tongue and be happy for them but god I don't get.

Yeah; I was seriously dissapointed in it; I mean, good looking people, nice costumes, a lot of flash, but the story was seriously lacking and they destroyed everything I liked about the dynamic in the TV series to whit:

-- it being NO BIG DEAL that Illya was from the USSR while Napoleon was from the USA. Seriously, we DID NOT need a "enemies to partners" origin story - the whole point of UNCLE is that it is UNITED.
-- characters who were unabashedly good guys. Making Napoleon a thief - and thus a war profiteer - was just godawful. If you want to give the hero a flaw, stick with "a bit vain and oversexed". Bah.
-- Illya's character - in the series, we have this reserved, seriously overqualified and over-educated man, who is all of a sudden BOOM! badass despite it all. In the movie? Yeah, a muscle-mountain of angst with a hair-trigger temper and ISSUES. Pfft.

The Winter Soldier.

If I divorce my opinion of the movie from the general raving the fandom tends to do, then yes I still like it. I just don't LOVE it or think it's the best Marvel movie ever.

Oh, yeah. "It's not as good as Winter Soldier".

Truth be told, I'd have to rewatch it to get a firm opinion of it.

The Revenant. And no. Hated when I saw it in theaters, still hate it now.

Every Guillermo Del Tori movie I've seen, even if it's one I like, I've found overrated.

Pac Rim? It's fine. I.....don't know why people clamored for a sequel.
Pan's Labyrinth? It's good! It is.
Crimson Peak? Never got through it. Tried three times.
The Shape of Water? ...probably my least favorite of his. He's very good with aesthetics and ideas, less so with ...everything else.

Mostly agree but I love The Devil's Backbone. But that one can't really be counted as an "overrated" movie of his anyway because it's relatively unknown.

Not only do I think it's overrated, I actively hate it.

Agreeing with you, but I was all crazy about it when it was released.

I think Kill Bill's overrated too.

I think ALL of Tarentino's movies are highly overrated.

La La Land, Frozen, Beauty and the Beast (the animated one), Brokeback Mountains, Mamma Mia, a lot of MCU.

I'm mostly just meh about all of them.

high fives you over finding Beauty and the Beast and Mamma Mia overrated. I couldn't even stand Abba when they were popular.

YO. I was NOT into La La Land! And I like musicals!

It's A Wonderful Life, Inception, Titanic, Gone With the Wind, most Disney movies, Paranormal Activity, Vertigo and the Birds (although I love most Hitchcock, just not those two) I dislike all of them except Disney movies which I'm just meh about.

Most of the animated Disney movies. Maybe it's because I wasn't raised with them, but I just never liked them that much? I've got friends who gush over them and love the disney princesses and fair enough they're okay movies, just does nothing for me.

I sure can't relate to those princesses.

This is overrated in a more 'arthouse' sort of way, but Russian Ark. When it came out I saw a lot of hype for the costumes, the scenery, and the bit where the whole thing was one continuous shot.
Sadly, it was also mindbendingly dull.

This is from over 30 years ago, but Buckaroo Banzai. I get that it's not supposed to be serious but I thought it was just stupid.

21 Grams -- fuck that movie.

Titanic - I liked it when I saw it, but certainly don't ever need to see it again. I admire the scope and the cinematography, but the original part of the story's paper-thin and the historical parts could have been done much better.

Wonder Woman was aggressively okay. It's a masterpiece compared to the DC movies that precede it, but that's a crazy low bar.
