Everytime I see someone mention this I read it as White Nick Fury, and I get so confused. My first reaction was "wait, wasn't there a white Nick Fury already? Is this some kind of new version of Nick Fury, who's apparently also a lady, I haven't heard about?" Apparently not.

I recently caved and downloaded Mystic Messenger last week, and holy shit, I did not realize the actual extent of how impossible it is to play this game casually. So I guess now I'm the kind of person who plays dating sims literally 24/7? Oops.

Thank god I haven’t seen those arguments. I’ve seen the opposite, with people grumbling about how the design is a terrible decision on DreamWorks’ part.

At least now we know why Night Furies are rare as fuck. Their females keep dying because the stick out like sore thumbs lmao

I tell people who've asked me that the reason I don't want to see the Han Solo movie is because I don't really like Han Solo as a character (this actually true), but the real reason is because the actor they cast as young HS looks NOTHING like Harrison Ford and and it just...takes me out of the moment.

Same. At first I was trying to just go along with it, figured they'd cast the best actor for the job and it was unlikely they could have gotten a lookalike. Then they needed to get an acting coach for the guy they cast, which is bad enough publicity but seeing him in the trailers was painful because he just wasn't really selling it. And then I found out they did have a lookalike they could have cast and I'm baffled as to why they didn't, especially when their choice was so terrible right from the beginning and never improved much.

Fortunately no one has really asked me why I haven't seen the Solo movie yet.
They'd be treated to a rant about the Young Han Solo Trilogy and original Han Solo in the Corporate Sector stories in the old EU.

The raised as a slave (maybe a noble,) TIE fighter ace, kicked out of the Imperial Military for helping Chewbacca escape Tarkin, screwed over by the Rebellion by his first love who ended up getting the Death Star plans is my Han Solo, thank you.

This means I also haven't seen Rogue One. And I still don't know if I'm going to. The Solo trailer turned me right off. (And agreed, the actor doesn't look like Ford at all.)

While I kind of liked his performance, his looks were really off, I agree. The main issue I have is the nose. He has a really tiny nose and Harrison Ford really... doesn't.

It's weird, people keep saying he didn't look or sound like Han Solo, but toward the end of the movie I was blown away by how much I thought he looked and sounded like Han Solo. I turned to my friend and said holy crap he looks like Han Solo in the movie theater.

The only conceivable point of Shadowhunters, as a franchise, is for fandom to write porn with the insanely hot cast

and the porn in the fandom isn't actually good

Whenever a new character "like me" pops up in something, people always point them out to me and it's cool and all. Representation, I guess? But they're always written from an outsider's perspective of what it's like to be one of us. Every moment is constructed for the audience to identify with the "normal" people who are interacting with them. I can't connect at all with this shallow idea other people have of what and who we are.

"but everyone like you is different!" they say. Exactly my point. I could feel more of a connection with someone like me if they had completely different views and a different way of interacting with the world than I do. They would at least feel more like a real person to me than all of these characters being created with their entire characterisation being "they are this" and nothing else. A condition is not a personality. That is lazy writing.

I hate people headcanoning my favourite characters with my particular disability and writing long posts about it that people never tag. I don't like my disability, it really hinders my life, I don't want to be reminded of it with my favourite characters.

Weirdness from watching movies where actors got together

Sometimes, when I watch a movie where I know the actors got together during or just after filming, I'll feel a little weird about any romantic scenes. Especially if the couple has broken up. It doesn't always happen, usually I'm swept up in the movie, but sometimes the thought occurs. So, Cruel Intentions, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Scream, The Amazing Spider-Man, etc.
