Ladies of FS, would you ever get your hair cut short? How short?

I'm getting my hair cut short next week. I've been growing it out for a few years and suddenly realised I don't WANT long hair, so I'm getting it cut real short again. Some sort of pixie cut probably.

I don’t ever want to, but over half my family died of cancer so I may have to resign myself at some point.

I've gotten it cut to my shoulders and liked it for about an hour, but then I wanted my long hair back.

I had my hair just below chin-length as a teen, but I've grown it long since then and probably wont go back. I like my hair long.

My hair used to be short when I was in my late teens -- about an inch long -- and I loved it. I ended up having to grow it out once my hair got curlier and turned into a mess of cowlicks.

It's only chin length now. (The longest I've been able to stand my hair is to the bottom of my shoulderblades. And even then I looked like Rosanna Rosannadanna most days.)

An older friend of mine gave herself a buzzcut after she survived a stroke. She couldn't style her hair like she used to and she likes the no-fuss nature of the buzz. From the back, her head looks like a fuzzy baby chicken.

I got it cut to my chin once, but it's so thick that I looked like a mushroom. It was the worst.

I go back and forth on shaving it off - I'd go a buzzcut and wouldn't grow it out past a short pixie cut. I don't like my hair in my face so if it's too short to tie back I don't want a big clump of it to be annoyed by.

I have my hair cut short, like a pixie cut. It's really nice and manageable. I'm planning to get it re-cut in the fall before we move back in with my parents.

I've had a pixie cut a few times, but it makes me look younger than I already am, so I've been wearing it long for a few years now.

I waffle between less-than-an-inch pixie cuts and growing it out because I get lazy.

I always had my hair short as a kid because lice were endemic on our busses. Now that I'm grown up, I don't think I'd cut it short. My face looks better with hair framing it. So I'd never have it shorter than my shoulders.

Yes, I have to keep my hair's length above my shoulders because it's been falling out and thinning for decades. D: It looks very scraggly when it grows towards or past my shoulders.

For about 20 years now I've grown my hair out for 2-3 years and then chopped it off to chin length to donate the hair. Last time I donated about 14" of braided hair. Chin length is the shortest I've gone since childhood, though. I'm due to chop it off again, as it has actually been about four years and my hair is down to the small of my back, but I've not gotten myself to do it. I do tend to prefer long hair on me, so that is at least part of it, I guess?

I shaved my head bald before, like shaving cream and a razor bald. I've got an A-line chin length bob rn, I like it best. My hair has been to mid-back, a couple years ago.

No, because I look too boyish already, and not in a good way.

Originally had to cut it short from being below my waist due to a traumatic brain injury, and have kept it short due to how thick and heavy it is, since I still have various brands of headache twenty years later. As in, less than half an inch.

Just got it done so short a couple of days ago, I'm calling it my "misplaced five o'clock shadow". Migraines plus 90-degree-farenheit heat with horrific humidity sucks!

I always cut my hair just past my chin, then let it grow until I can't stand the length/weight anymore & cut it to my chin again. I don't think I'd ever get it shorter than that, it wouldn't suit my face.

My hair gets really curly when it's short, so probably not shorter than shoulder length. At the moment it's mid-back.

The shortest I've ever gone is just above the shoulders and the last time I did that I was in my teens. My hair is super long right now but I don't know what I want to do with it.

I can't imagine having mine long. I've always kept it chin length or shorter and I love it that way because I can just wash and go and it's dry by the time I get to work. Who wants to spend all that extra time washing and drying it? Not to mention how much more shampoo it takes.

I've kept it at least pixie-cut short since high school. The shortest I've ever gone is maybe half an inch, but these days (when I can afford to get my hair cut) I like to have the sides and back cut pretty short and the top slightly longer, like this: https://imgur.com/a/dxPZrlA. That's my Skyrim self-insert who basically looks like a hotter version of me when I was skinny. I can't wait until my last disability hearing is over so that I can dye my hair that color again, instead of leaving it its natural, blah boring color.

It is short.
