I don't agree with calling it elitism, necessarily - People drawn in by specific new media are bound to be there for different reasons than the old fans because of different tastes, and it's hugely frustrating to have something you've been a part of taken away from you by a flood of people who haven't been as dedicated.

The chances of Harley Quinn happening are higher than poison Ivy. The reason that Poison Ivy won't be in the next movie isn't because Hollywood hates female comic book characters, but because she has super powers

My friend and I have had this conversation time and time again about how half of the Batman villains from the comic books can't be in the Begins universe because they have super powers, and this series of movies is focusing on the more human side of the villains. None of the characters have powers, they're just people who are insane. XD

Harley Quinn = not powered. So there's a chance they might write her into the script as a way of keeping the Joker into the movie without bringing in a new actor. Poison Ivy won't be, because, again, powers.

And it's not because of hollywood's hatred of female characters. I'll tell you right now. Batman just has a lack of female villains, actually. :/ Or well, most comic books do.

tl;dr: Haryley Quinn could, but Poison Ivy isn't human enough.

I used to hate Twilight so much. Even more then Tinkerbell. Then I discovered a wonderful troll called EdwardLovesJacob / JacobLovesEdward on DevianTART, and now I'm changed. Now I love to hate it and love it for the crack anti-fandom. So much lulz.

The Muppets are probably the most awesome thing in existance, characters that I grew up with, and sometimes when I think about the fact that he's gone, that he'll never create another gem of a character again, it makes my heart ache :(. Well I don't openly say these things. I am pretty nice, not really an elitist as I don't feel like I am quite old enough to consider myself able to oppose new fans. I like the movies, I just am a bit overwhelmed at the moment with the sudden influx of...everything.

One of the only things that kept me from lapsing into pure catatonia the first time I got hospitalized was the thought that the cast from Scrubs was singing "You're Going to Be Okay" from the My Musical episode. My whole life I've used fandom to keep me going when things seemed bleak and hopeless - it seems silly only to people who haven't been there.

158. I was a huge fan of Batman Beyond. TDK is rekindling my love for the old show. I don't mind sharing the fandom with the new kids. And granted overall I was never really that involved in the fandom to begin with (I am a hermit). But I think we'll see the 'annoying' fangirls fade out of existence sooner or latter. ;3 At least now we have fresh material. Just skim over all the slash and Mary Sues. I share your pain with the newbie fans almost ruining/messing up something so much that you value and love, hence why I'm sticking to my roots and not stepping on any toes. Kinda like i was when I went into the Transformers fandom, I had roots to it because of Beast Wars/Machines. But I respected the fandom and all for what it was worth. Because THAT'S WHAT STARTED IT ALL. You know? ._. Please don't scare me out of your fandom, I am calm and quiet and intend on sticking around for quite some time. In time the 'trend fan girls' will go away, and there may be some newer fans that stick around. But hey... it all makes it part of a growing community, you know?

My secret should have been worded more gracefully I guess, because people aren't reading it correctly, lol. I NEVER have a problem with new fans, it is just the trend, and the ones who are pretending to have been along with it. :\ IDK I have no problem with people genuinely interested in this fandom, just the ones who are interested in shipping everyone and not much else. It is lame to be like that though, hence why I am admitting it secretly. :O

132. Honestly? I rather dislike that pairing (or any pairing involving Neuro for that matter) because Neuro does not understand human emotions. He had to have Yako figure out the human parts of the mysteries (read: Hal) and personally I think he wouldn't touch anything in a sexual manner unless it got him fed somehow.

Plus, with his saliva and other fluids being acidic, I think sex would melt her insides once he shoots his load (if he has any).
