123: A lot of things made me...less than impressed with Season 3, overall, to be honest. Her less than stellar acting didn't help, but I never really noticed it until after she left as a permanent Companion.

125: FUCK YES, Space Cases.

173: I've actually only read volumes 1-3 of the manga (can't find 4 anywhere -- may have to try Amazon), but so far everything that's happened in the anime happened in the manga, too. Some things, like the stuff in episode 5 with Ono and Chikage at the store, are even gayer. But, they're pretty much finished with Ono's plot after episode 6, so focus will probably shift to the straight characters now.

103. Yes. Yes, Billie Piper is an ugly ugly woman.... -.- It can't just be that she looks, y'know, different than normal hollywood chicks? Honestly, that's one of the things I like about her--half the time, I don't care about actresses because I can't remember which is which. But honestly, I'm tired of these opinions. I've been tired of them since I was ten. Why is it that the spectrum for what is attractive in a woman is so much narrower than what is attractive for a man?


113. Oh, c'mon now, let the little ones have their fun. High schoolers do that, and then they grow out of it. I don't find X-men fandom any less wanky, for all that its populated largely by males, rather than tweeny girls.
But really, I think it's weaksauce to let a fandom actually make you hate something a lot.

123. That's almost refreshing. I'm not saying I agree (though I'm not 100% sure that I disagree), but it's at least a different sort of opinion to the ones I keep seeing.

Seriously, I was about to do this, and then decided, it's not a secret for me--I'll whine about it all day long!
I love Johnny Depp, actually. But if he's in a movie, it becomes a Johnny Depp Movie. And I like these, they're lots of fun and all. But they're still Johnny Depp Movies. And BATMAN should emphatically not be a Johnny Depp Movie. It should be a Batman movie where the actors are appropriately less than the characters (part of what I really love about Heath's performance).
Plus, the Riddler is my freaking favourite Batman villian ever, and he needs to have the right ammount of pathos to him. Depp can't do that. He can do strangely quirky and all wonderfully. But he can not play the Riddler.
I could see Tennany at it better.
But my personal Pleasepleasepleasepleaseletitbehim actor choice for the role? David Hyde Pierce. Go, DHP, push that neurotic, effete, charming-yet-pathetic character!


147. I don't really see why anyone would compare them. It's just not the sort of thing. I will say I, personally, enjoy Sandman much more, and as a story, it's had a lifelong effect on me and influenced the way I percieve the world around me, while Watchmen was just a Good Story.

Honestly, I'm getting more tired of people complaining about the fandom than the people who are "ruining" it (and I promise you, Harley-sues and tender-Joker makes me want to punch things as much as the next nerd). Batman/Joker? It's been around for ages. It's practically canon. I mean, not sexually, never sexually (ick!) but in a psychological way, it's been there for decades, and psychologically...it is kinda hawt. And the Joker? Yeah, sorry, he's hot too. Whether or not it upsets you that he's played by hottie-mc-hotpants-with-a-tongue-fetish in the movie doesn't change the fact that he was. As someone who grew up fiercely on the comics and Hamill!Joker (who was still one of my favourites, because if he showed up, we knew it would be a good episode), even I'm a bit under his charm.
Sorry that people are excited about the new thing out right now. Sorry that people found Heath!Joker attractive. Believe it or not, it doesn't mean they don't "truly appreciate Batman." I mean, let's face it--guys have been getting fanservice in comics since there were comics!!!!! Did it mean someone didn't "truly appreciate" Batman if he noticed and appreciated that Catwoman was really really hot in that black leather?

The double-standards, they amuse me.

172. They already have. That said, I've run into about...two..good fics about Harley and movie!Joker. Granted, one of them barely brushes comic!canon at all, but it's not romantic or cutesy in the slightest, so that works.
That said...I kind of like her staying the way she is in the cartoon (and the comics). Bring Harley into the movieverse and pair her up with Heath!Joker...we're looking at something far more sick-and-twisted than cute. Something practically out of Saw or Silence of the Lambs.
