121: Maybe you should take the hint and pick another character. As far as him being straight: It doesn't matter how straight a character is in canon, people WILL pair them with a member of the same sex at some point. Deal.

123- See, I am the opposite of you. I thought her acting saved the show. I do not think Billie Piper can act. The worst example is Left turn where she can not sustain the same accent throught the episode. At least Freeman did that.

125- Has it really been ten years? I liked that show too!

127- I agree no Johnny Depp as Riddler, but actually, I like the sound of Tennet as Riddler.

130- I am not really a slasher, but this is fandom, why should they have to justify themselves? Why can't they do it just because?

I'm a fan of Batman to the point where I can remember the exact year I became one - 1989 when the first Tim Burton movie came out and channel four in the UK repeated all the 60s show and 1940s serials. To see people swarm around like the franchise like flies on shit just because TDK is the most "in" thing right now is pissing me off something stupid. I feel so posessive of the Batworld because I loved it before half TDK/Ledger fangirls were even born.

It makes me sad that these kids will drop the Batworld like a hot potato when the next "in" thing comes along.

People can be so shallow about fandoms but I truly treasure mine and the poser type fans who have no genuine emotional attachment to it annoy me to death.

Your first paragraph is so hypocritical. You basically said that the only reason you got into Batman was because the Tim Burton movie was in, but you hate everyone who's into it NOW because of TDK being in? lol. I don't like the influx of Joker fangirls either, but come on.

(I liked TDK a lot, but haven't made any attempt to get into Batman otherwise.)

158 I feel your pain—all those people who want their fandoms to be larger are on crack. New people who come flying into your fandom often aren't going to write stuff that you like about your fandom, but entirely different stuff that will bring in all these fangirls who like the new stuff, and the people who liked the old stuff get squeezed out because it's so hard to find the things they used to like among the new stuff.

Tl;dr: If you hang on, the short-attention-span-theater people will leave, and the ones that stay will be cool, and all will be well.

173 I've only seen the first ep, but the manga is pretty campy, at least where Ono is concerned. And actually, again going by the first ep, they've introduced the darkness of Tachibana's past earlier than they did in the manga, so the anime might be a little more balanced.

175 I was in college when he died. The news swept through the dining hall and let me tell you, there were a lot of crying hockey players that day.

176 Actually, there have been a bunch of people pretending to be a gay man to get attention. And everyone was pissy about that too.

178 First, that's a coping mechanism, just one part of your brain telling another part of your brain to try harder to get it together. But I want to urge you to get help—it needn't be drugs, and if you're uninsured there are clinics and you can also try psychoanalytic schools that use a sliding pay scale and can work with you on the fee. But depression is a serious disease that can be fatal if left untreated. I know (from personal experience) how hard it is to take care of yourself when you're depressed, but you really need to do this, for yourself and your future. It's no different than getting treatment for any other disease, and no shame in it. But please, get help.
