Gen fic. I LOVE gen fic so much. I recently found an author that does a crap ton of Supernatural fic with whump Castiel and protective Winchesters. It has been a goldmine.

Horror fic. People just don't write it. Not even a noticeable uptick during October. There used to a comment meme that happened yearly (I think) but that doesn't happen anymore.

For tropes....sugar daddy fics. I love it so much.

I'm not sure what to call it. For example...a fic where Draco is still an ass/bigot/whatever, but his brain actually works and by the fourth or fifth book he's actually part of the group, friends with Harry/crushing on Harry (mutual!), and working like Snape maybe to undermine from within.

Femdom pwp. Epic length Tolkien fics. Slight AUs in the Tolkien fandom (not modern AUs, but just single event changed, what happens next.) In-character fics for my OTP. Gender flip fics that actually explore what might be different and what might stay the same. Bottom or sub!Thor fics.

Well done seduction!fic- by which I mean slow persuasion of an initially unsure or noncommital to be an extremely enthusiastic partner. Unfortunately, I usually just find "character a somehow turns character b from a totally uninterested to a full 180 OMG YES" which is not the point; or wierd "dub-con" type situations where the seducer flat out ignores signals to stop or slow down or that the other person is not fully into it :/ (YKINMK and all that; just wish I could FIND my kink).

Currently eating ramen. Woke up at 5:30am because the power was out at our house. Shitty landlord had to call an electrician out to fix it and it wasn't on until after 10am. :(

I got those bilateral sacroiliac injections, and my pain doctor (who is made of pure awesome and I'm super lucky to be his patient) also gave me two trigger point injections in my lower back where the herniated disc (and source of most of my pain) is, and none of it was nearly as painful as I'd feared. The sacroiliac shots did hurt pretty bad, but honestly I feel worse than that on a daily basis, so it wasn't really that big of a deal, and the trigger point shots were barely a pinch by comparison. I'm still a little sore, but not much more than usual. Here's hoping I get some relief out of them!

After I got home, I helped mom get ready for her board exam, which she passed with flying colors. Truthfully, she was far more nervous about seeing her abusive teacher again than taking the test, so much so that she had a massive panic attack in the car on the way there (thankfully she wasn't driving). She got through it, though, and I couldn't be prouder of her.

Have you ever for some reason (hatewatching, a need to see the finale) watched a show to the end long after it started to suck? Was it worth it?

Just got out of the mental hospital after a bipolar meltdown with severe suicidal ideation. The first three days were a nightmare. I was in the Thought Disorder ward waiting for a bed to open up in the Affective Disorder ward. But the ADU was the most helpful mental health experience I've ever had and I feel better than I have in years. So there's that! (I don't know if anyone wondered where I was - I don't comment much or anything but I figured I'd give an update).

Renaissance fairs

There's one in my state, and a few of my Facebook friends have gone. And this one lady has posted a few comments on their status and photos complaining about it - not because she went and didn't like it, just because she doesn't like the idea, I guess. Mostly she seems to object to them not being historically accurate, and I guess romanticizing the past.

She was kind of dramatically exasperated about it, too, claiming it makes her want to "howl" and acting upset about the idea of kids picking up misconceptions about history. Like she has to yell about people about this every year or something (and maybe she does?).

Neither of the FB people who went had kids, and from the one time I went the Renaissance Fair years ago, I didn't get the impression that anyone thought it was supposed to be historically accurate. I mean I saw people wearing cosplay and Steampunk stuff.

Do you think it's rude to post on someone else's post or status complaining like that? Or that it's okay if your point is important enough? I feel a little bit bad for the people whose posts she complained on. I doubt they were expecting anyone to take it that seriously.
