Wait, is this "she liked a tweet" drama? Which is even pettier than "she posted a tweet" drama?

Don't get me wrong, either can be unprofessional but blowing up a person's job over "like" clicks is unwarranted.

When I Was A Kid... 'Happy Holidays' meant 'have a good holiday from the period between Thanksgiving and New Years since they are all lumped really close together'

I'm looking forward to it. I love Mandalorian armor, so I'll at least enjoy looking at this show, even if it's dumb. But I like Jon Favreau, he does good work. I think it'll be good.

Kind of hoping for the end of this, because Thanos turned out to be the stupidest villain concept after Civil War, and I'm sick of it over-saturating my feeds.

(Anonymous) 2018-12-08 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
Same. I'm sick of all the Mandalorian stuff. None of it's been interesting.

What kind of music other people listen to.

(Anonymous) 2018-12-08 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
I'm aware of that it was cancelled, but I wouldn't rule out popularity changing that decision. Profits, after all.

I will be working, playing Pokemon Let's Go Eevee, and I hope I'll work on my Yuletide fic because it's getting down to the wire. (I did start already.)

No idea, honestly. Watching me some Star Trek:Voyager and doing some house cleaning, but other than that not sure.

The little of 6 I'v seen I liked. He's abrasive, yes, but since I've read up and know what they were planning with him, it works for me.

Cleaning since my mom comes home Monday. Backing up my tumblr somehow. Writing Yuletide.

Conflict over it is something that Fox News pretty much made up as part of the War on (Atheists at) Christmas. I mean "Happy Holiday" is probably the least offensive thing about Irving Berlin and Bing Crosby. https://youtu.be/2jzhd0SU8k4

Also, how other people celebrate Christmas (or don't).

OP

(Anonymous) 2018-12-08 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
What the person below said. He cheated on his pregnant wife. and given I didn't love him to begin with and thought he seemed arrogant in most of his roles, that was kind of the final straw for me.

Re: Avengers Endgame Trailer!

And I mean, oversaturation as in "we're going to run a blog post a day on whatever rumor about Avengers is circulating on twitter and tumblr" for the last year.

Re: ?

ayrt

If you say so. There have been ten live-action movies in the franchise with many different directors and a few different writers. And I've watched franchises with fewer movies and I can't think of one longer than a trilogy that I've liked all of the movies in. I think the more movies that get made in a franchise, the more likely it is that fewer people will like them all. Given how many Original Trilogy fans were unhappy with the Prequel Trilogy movies, how some people who watched newer ones before watching the OT found the OT old and clunky, how many people didn't watch Solo, how people have argued over The Last Jedi and Rogue One, it seemed like a reasonable assumption for me to make.

There is a huge gulf of difference between "I personally don't like this part of Doctor Who" and "Doctor Who is ruined forever" or "no real fan could like this part of Who." One is expressing an opinion. The other is being an asshole.

Yes.

Re: Who Should Host The Oscars?

(Anonymous) 2018-12-08 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
They couldn't find a host and when they finally did someone dug up some homophobic tweets from a decade ago. Recreational outrage ensued. The Academy demanded he issue a formal apology and he decided it wasn't worth it. They're scrambling to find a replacement but no one wants to do it.

Re: Who Should Host The Oscars?

(Anonymous) 2018-12-08 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
I agree, it's ridiculous and absurd to expect someone to apologize for being homophobic before being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to go on stage in one of the biggest television events of the year

(Anonymous) 2018-12-08 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
I just don't agree with "The show has always changed. But it has always been awesome."

Volunteer work. Shuffling files between drives because I found one drive was running considerably slower than the other and I don't trust it now. (And I'm waiting on xmas money to replace it.) Sending off a present to my family secret santa. Playing my latest game obsession (Battletech, finally on linux.)

Yeah, I am trying to do the Tumblr built in back up. But things keep going wrong. So might do it overnight. :( Good luck on your doing it!

Re: Who Should Host The Oscars?

(Anonymous) 2018-12-08 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
Is he homophobic? There is nothing in nearly ten years to indicate that. There's a lot to show that he isn't. And he did apologise. What he didn't do was issue the Academy's formal apology. And they wonder why no one wanted the job.
