It's been years and I will never not think about Peter leaving his girlfriend in the future on "Heroes." Years, and not one single comment about WTF happened to her after he changed the timeline. (I'm laughing just thinking about it again. I didn't care for the character that much, it was just SO bizarre.)

Nick Stokes got kidnapped and tortured on CSI. It didn't seem to affect anyone afterwards.

Ha. I'm a huge fan of Warren Ellis.

A few years ago he had a whole bunch of comics I was just in love with... Then his laptop shit the bed. He didn't have any backups, and as such has never been back to finish Anna Mercury, Switchblade Honey, Desolation Jones, and Ignition City. He got so disheartened by losing all that work he's just plain scrapped them all. Some of them ended at the end of an arc and just wont be getting sequels. Others Just dropped dead mid-story.

And since they're all his creator own works, and he is of course protective over his IP (Comics industry will fuck you if you're not) he's not letting anyone else pick them up. He'll never work them, no-one else will ever work them, they just *Blip* died where they fell.

I am HEARTBROKEN by this. They were fantastic works, and I dearly want more.

I don't think "abandoned" is quite the term for it, but it always drove me crazy that there was almost no emotional follow-through for anything that happened in The X-Files.

Mulder would seem to have an emotional breakthrough regarding his horrible childhood and his missing sister...and then the writers would just walk it all back the next time they decided Mulder needed some angst.

And Scully was constantly suffering all sorts of horrifying violations, only to have the next episode barely even acknowledge any of the things that were done to her.

I realize that this sort of continuity fail was fairly standard for mid 90's TV, but still, it's frustrating.

On Two and a Half Men, there was this subplot where Alan thought he was the father of Judith’s kid and it never really went anywhere. Unless it went somewhere when Walden was introduced.

In Frozen, the whole plot point about Anna’s memories felt as if it was dropped a third into the movie. It bothers the fuck out of me because it seemed like an important thing and it’s never really brought up again. I hate it when writers do that shit.

Also, the whole fucking arc of the GS ball in Pokemon amounted to nothing and the team apparently wanted viewers to just quietly forget about it...

Fucking hell, it grinds my gears when things that seem important just kinda fizzle out.

"REWATCH" oy. Autocorrect needs to get its act together. Anyway I made this thread because I'm trying to remember the name of a series I'm almost positive I did not hallucinate. It was a series of YA novels where people from iirc modern US got magically (?) transported back and forth between their hometown and an alternate world Renaissance Venice. There were family feuds and the main characters changed from book to book but they all were involved in each other's lives. One guy chose to die (?) in our world so he could permanently stay in alt!Venice. Anyone know what these were called?

Published M/M book where the MC is a reporter who starts investigating some story, meets another reporter for a rival newspaper and they hate each other at first, but predictably end up together. I started reading it a long time ago but didn't get to finish it for some reason and the other day it randomly popped into my head and now I want to track it down.

Had a really stressful day today but it's over now so I'm just hanging around looking at random stuff online and being lazy. I need to make dinner soon but I'm not sure what I want. I've been getting tacos on Fridays for awhile now but I don't feel like leaving the house so I'm skipping it this week. I think I might just make a big chef salad because I don't really feel like cooking.

Not sure what's going on this weekend...might go out tomorrow if I feel like it or I might just stay home and read.

My parents and I plan to see Mary Poppins Returns tomorrow and go to a bigger Barnes & Noble so my dad can find a military history book he's interested in that'll be one of my Christmas gifts to him this year.

On Sunday, my mom & I are going to an Afternoon Tea showing of the early 90s Little Women.

Me, my mum and a group of gal pals we met through our political party are having a prosecco afternoon tomorrow! On Sunday dad and I are going to rearange our kitchen so that my short arse can reach the tools I need and tall mama bear can stretch for hers. Considering I cook 5 days to her 2 this is fair. Then Hogmanay (31st) will include cleaning our house from top to bottom because that is the Scottish tradition. Uuuurgh.

Have you ever been surprised by voices in media?

By that I mean that the voice don't match expectations of what the person or character "should" sounds like.

For example singer Yannis Papadopoulos in "Blind and Frozen" by Beast in Black. I thought that he was lip syncing over a female vocalist during the verse but it's all him! I saw them live this summer and he really does have a very feminine voice in parts.

I did three things today that we better than expected. Had an impossible burger. It tasted just like meat! Watched Venom. It was great! Drank dragonberry vodka and it is amazing!
