Nothing. Might drink some wine while I play OW with my sisters. This year is ending in a bit of a blah (my sister had to have an appendectomy). My birthday is tomorrow (turning 30) and I am just meh about it.

Rick & Morty drinking game. we don't go out we always stay home and play a TV-watching video game. last year was Drag Race and it was epic.

tomorrow, though, that's my big day. I have a lot of cooking and prep to do for osechi ryori, including homemade mochi. it's going to be this huge seven course thing and I need all the luck I can get in the new year so all the tastiest lucky foods are on the menu.

Reading a murder mystery and being annoyed that the end of the chapter I'm on just told me someone else is going to die. I hate it when that happens; I want to be surprised.

Also listening to an LP and toying with my budget. Considering food.

We've already greeted the new year here in Sweden.

Saw The Hunchback of Notre Dame at the Gothenburg Opera House, had dinner at a hot stone restaurant and then spent the countdown by the Poseidon statue.

Had dinner with my parents, ate 12 grapes as the bell chimed midnight (it's a tradition here in Spain) and now I'm watching a clip show with bits of the many, many musical acts which have appeared in our national broadcasting television since the 1950's. Three uninterrupted hours of nostalgia accompanied by puns, fun facts and catty comments delivered in the form of subtitles.

Not a lot, played some Spyro, dicked about on WoW with some friends and the bf until midnight and will go to bed shortly.

Went to work this morning. Was one of only two people in today. Completed the one task I needed to do, and got tgat done before noon. Spent a little while sorting old emails and things, then left (I have plenty of vacation to cover the rest of the day). Went to the grocery store. Went home. Took a short nap. Wondered when the rain would turn into "wintry mix" as had been prophesied. Started some laundry. Sent a few happy New Year texts. Started cooking dinner/this week's lunch (Budgetbytes' beef and cabbage stir fry, but substituting ground turkey). Decided to make some rice, so currently waiting for that to finish cooking so I can eat.

Laughing my ass off at my BFF, because she's currently pregnant with twins. I promised I'd laugh forever if the fertility treatments gave her quads, so with twins I have to laugh for half of that. I'm OBLIGATED.

She's putting on a good front of being happy, but I've known her since we were 11. Underneath this surface level of "oh boy, I can dress them so cute!" is a deep, swirling void of screams, vomit, and screams of vomit.

Does anyone here bullet journal? Or keep a regular journal in general?

I've not kept one since I was a kid. Keeping a bullet journal seems to be the in thing but is just so confusing!

Things that grind your gears

A co-worker gifted me a salt rock lamp thing. The stupid thing doesn't have an on/off switch! It is also a USB so I can't easily get a plug in with a switch built in! Why do things these days not have switches!

Our new Christmas tree was the same way. And this was a fancy tree where each section works just by dropping them into the previous section instead of hunting for a cord.

Do you ever get the sudden urge to just read a ton of fic in an old fandom? What ones?

I just gotten the sudden urge to read a bunch of Hobbit fic! I've not read any in a year or so or seen the movies since they first came out.

For several days now, I've been having issues with the hearing in my right ear and it's been clogged. I know it's ear wax build up but it doesn't seem to be dislodging on its own and it's driving me crazy so I did my usual routine on occasions when this happens:

1) a few drops of hydrogen peroxide in the ear for 10 minutes
2) repeated flushing out with warm water using one of those squeeze bulb things

Repeat for two days. This is day three and it FINALLY came out and it was the size of a tiny football shaped clump nearly half an inch long. It smelled like... cheese and chlorinated pool water? (I haven't been swimming in years.) It's such a goddamn relief and I wanted to share it with someone.
