Like, right now I'me reading a manga that WAS a stupid goofy fluff thing with characters I like and no major drama...

Uhhhhh, I can do that easily because I know that no matter what we're saying, I have no wish to fuck my dad, and acknowledge that context changes the meaning and interpretation of very similar events?

I can look at two unrelated guys staring each other down and think 'those guys wanna fuck' and those same two guys in the same AU where they are brothers, both acknowledge they are brothers and have no incesty feelings doing the same, and interpret it as rivalry.

Cause... context matters...

I have some recs and I feel like maybe none of them will work for you because this is just the dumb bullshit I like to watch that has little to no angst

Non fiction recs: Great British Bake Off, Tidying Up with Marie Kondo (one episode deals with death but you could skip it), the podcast Wonderful, Bob Ross, most baking competition shows tbh

Fiction: Honestly I really like watching Disney Channel shows and movies - they’re dumb and cheesy but if you like that kind of thing (or like laughing at it) they can be really fun.

I might get mocked for this because I don't feel like it really fits in here, but have you ever seen the show Impractical Jokers? It's about four friends who are a comedy group who basically just screw around with each other. Kind of a mix of improv and just daring each other to do dumb shit. It's what I watch when I'm depressed/in a bad mood because it never fails to make me laugh.

Also, for similar reasons, Whose Line Is It Anyway is great. I haven't seen much of the British version but I love the Drew Carey years of the US version and the Aisha Tyler seasons aren't bad either.

They will be, yes, but - that doesn't mean they'll be horribly depressed and grieving for all that time. Many people fall in love more than once, and even if they don't have the same kind of/as passionate of a love, they have all kinds of chances to be happy.

Especially if they're immortal - I imagine they've kind of figured out a way to move themselves along to the next phase of their life.

(I think that's a trope i hate the most: Immortal Character's 'True Love' dies and IC proceeds to spend the next 300 years or so mourning them, slumping around in gloomy, depressed attitudes, and generally not moving on. Makes me furious.)
