A lot of my favorite shows I can't pick favorite episodes for, because I like the whole story too much. So I'll just answer for shows where I do have favorite episodes.

Fight The Future is my favorite X-Files episode, but that probably doesn't count since it's, you know, a movie. I'm not even arguing it's the best or anything; it's just my favorite. Objectively, I'd say "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose" is probably the "best" episode of the show, and it's probably my favorite actual episode.

I think "The Suitcase" was probably my favorite Mad Men episode (though I might feel different if I rewatched, idk).

"Fight" is my favorite Masters Of Sex episode. I remember feeling like I'd just seen something truly powerful and masterfully done when I watched that ep.

To this day I will defend the first episode of The OC as being legitimately good TV. (The rest of the series can fend for itself.)

I still really like the first episode of Sherlock, "A Study In Pink." Everything else is either meh or cringe.

I think "The Body" and "Once More With Feeling" are my favorite Buffy episodes, each for completely different reasons.

Anything fun and light that won't depress me.

Nothing too political, and nothing too short si vous plait.

Other than that I don't care, Anime, Mange, Comic, Game, Books, Series, Film, I can't stress this enough: Something fun and with ZERO depressing stuff. I mean when I can't even rely on fucking Jitsu wa Watashi wa to keep it upbeat, I really do have to get some better escapistm.

Could you clarify what kind of stuff you find depressing? Like, is a little angst fine as long as it resolves quickly and happily, or are you looking for some super easy watching with no angst at all?

Crazy Rich Asians has a dark moment but a romantic happy ending. It was my comfort movie yesterday.

I have some recs and I feel like maybe none of them will work for you because this is just the dumb bullshit I like to watch that has little to no angst

Non fiction recs: Great British Bake Off, Tidying Up with Marie Kondo (one episode deals with death but you could skip it), the podcast Wonderful, Bob Ross, most baking competition shows tbh

Fiction: Honestly I really like watching Disney Channel shows and movies - they’re dumb and cheesy but if you like that kind of thing (or like laughing at it) they can be really fun.

I go to work, come home, play some video games, go to bed. I have spare income. I don't want to date (asexual). I don't have any close friends where I live. I am friendly with my coworkers. Where do you get your media?

So I am thinking of cutting my cable, because it'd give me back an extra $50 a month, but the only thing I really use it for is cooking shows (ie Hell's Kitchen, Worst Cooks, Great Food Truck Race, etc), and those seem hard to find on streaming networks, and I'd honestly rather not have to subscribe to three streaming devices to watch three shows if it's going to add up to the same cost as my cable, but at the same time I feel weird pirating TV (plus cooking shows aren't always super popular things for people to upload).

Anyone know of streams that have most or all of these shows at a reasonable price? Or should I just keep my cable.
