my roomie wants to move out of our current apt and into a house w/his boyfriend but the power company hasn't turned on the power in the house yet. They've been saying it'll be turned on "soon" for A YEAR AND A HALF NOW.

The Devil is a Part-Timer is a lot of fun, IMHO. I enjoyed it enough to start reading the light novels.

Watched the whole thing this weekend and I'm hooked.

And virtue signaling is not a phrase that pro-social-justice people use. It's a phrase that "anti sjw" people use when they don't think someone making an sj argument actually cares.

How....is that legal?

I'm not sure it is.

I've been in fandom long enough that I've tried to go back to old fandoms only to find out that almost all of the fic has been taken down.

I think that's mostly just a lucky byproduct in my case. Thinking back, I'm pretty sure I started saving because I had hand-me-down W95 computer, while the family computer was online. I'd save fic on floppies so that I could read store them and re-read them on my own computer without having to upset my parents with the phone bill.

Jesus, I'm old.

At work: Have accidentally said "love you" to customers in the middle of the "bye/thank you/have a good day" process, fallen up the stairs on my first day in front of my new colleague, asked a bald man if the hair scrunchie I'd found by the counter was his, made a thinly-veiled dick joke to a superior who was visiting because apparently that's what my brain does when I'm nervous.

Elsewhere: Tried to challenge my brother in Scrabble over the word "one" (my brain kept pronouncing it "oh-ney"), set the oven on fire trying to make cheese on toast, and became convinced that I was a tree for two hours after trying ketamine. Never, ever again.

She's hot. I usually have to be attracted to both people to really be into a ship, though (at least a ship from a movie or tv, it isn't always the case with books).

I only save fics I really love and want to reread. which usually means either a great porny fic or a great, really long action fic. I download the PDFs from AO3, which is pretty easy to do.

But not enough to subscribe to DC Universe.

Forget legal, it just doesn't make sense. They're literally screwing themselves out of paying customers...

Upstart Crow. Don't quite know what I think of it. The dissonance between Shakespearean times and attitudes and the modern political comment keeps throwing me out of the story. Nor am I an anti-Stratfordian. OTOH I like Shakespeare's Brummie family. I'll keep going with it.

I answer the phone at my office and have definitely said "I love you" before hanging up on people. I've had people 'on autopilot' say it back a few times, so it evens out.

I'm Sorry for Your Loss (on Facebook Watch). I was afraid it would hit too hard since I've had a lot of experience with losing people/grief, but it's really cathartic + Elizabeth Olsen and Kelly Marie Tran are really fun to watch.

There's one for my neighborhood that I've never checked out, but a neighbor told me about a post where someone complained about a school bus driver taking "too many" kid's books from a Little Free Library, and someone suggested she was going to sell them for money for drugs, because that's totally plausible.

Less of a stupid thing, more of a stupid reaction. Years ago, some friends of mine got me into an MMO. I’d played MMOs before. I was on Skype voice chatting with them as they guided/teased me through making my first character and playing the game. When I wanted to go, I said “so I just click quit, right?” I figured I didn’t need to wait for an answer to that, and quit the game — just as one of my friends decided to troll me and say “wait, you need to save first.” My immediate reaction was a passionate “shit”, on live voice chat, in the 1.5 seconds it took me to remember you don’t save in MMOs.

fwiw, I still have Win 7 (Home Premium edition with Service Pack 1) and I run Steam just fine.

The best part was my brother just sitting in total silence staring at me while I went on a massive rant about how "oh-NEY" is NOT A WORD, WHAT THE HELL WAS HE THINKING. I wanted the ground to swallow me when it clicked.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who does that! And people saying it back to you is adorable, it's good when the autopilot goes both ways. I also said "have a great Christmas" to someone yesterday because I'd gotten so used to saying it to every customer over the holidays.

I'm not too familiar with Venture Bros. but, uh, is this the character who's a pedophile and has molested the boys at some point?
