I KNOW, RIGHT? They call him sanctimonious! Him! I literally cannot comprehend where that label comes from -- he hasn't done anything or behaved in any way worse than any other character on the show. He's a solid, dependable, sweet-natured man devoted to his family and friends. What is not to love?!

I grew up near that cape, so I'm curious :P

I remember one conversation about FMA (IRL), where someone insisted that what Ed and Al had done was wrong and that it was cool that it was, since they were main characters. I kept insisting and insisting that it wasn't wrong, despite it being against the laws and all. I couldn't (and still can't) possibly condemn two little boys who just wanted their mother back, since if it had been possible, I would've done exactly what they did.

[ /TL;DR] I'm sorry you had to end up feeling like them, OP.

Well, for me it was, "Well, I feel bad for them but they did wrong, they're learning from it and that's all that matters," and I always thought, "Man, if someone in my family died like that, I'd just let them rest in peace, because, y'know, it's the right thing to do."

But when it does happen, you're not really thinking straight, you're just thinking about your family and you just want them back so much to hug and love them and just be a family again that I couldn't help but just feel bad for them so much more because I would break laws to have my dad back. I'd still do anything :(

I love Nia, think she is a very interesting character and don’t really care if you dislike her or not. She is the main heroine of the TV show, she will be the main heroine of the first movie and the second movie will even focus completely on her and Simon! Why should I care if people in the Internet dislike her when Gainax loves her?

Still, poor Masahiko Ootsuka. He is the one reason Kamina’s death was a good as it was yet you won’t respect him just because his favorite character was Nia. :(

112) I automatically lose respect for people who automatically lose respect for others over some random fandom taste. Actually, no I don't, I'm sure you are a fine person. But it does make me think even if we were in the same fandom, we probably wouldn't get along. Hanging with non-judgemental people is what makes it fun to be a total nerd.

116) It really makes me wonder how someone can enthusiastically love a candidate and not care about the issues the candidate cares about. The election shouldn't be about who the candidates are -- it should be about what the hell they'll do with our country once they get the power of the presidency. Hillary wanted to win, yes, but it's not going to happen. Now what she wants is for there not to be another Republican in the Whitehouse destroying our country for 4 more years. Personality aside, Clinton and Obama agree on pretty much every substantive issue. McCain is the polar opposite.

124) Don't know about the actors (don't want to know either), but I'll say, in Eurika, death is not quite the impediment that it would be in other shows. Pick your poison: holograms, nanotech, time reversal, brain imprint on some computer, clone in a vat... oh the list goes on and on and on.

While I agree that their platforms are similar. . .how they want to deal with economic and immigration issues are different.

The Economy and Immigration Reform. . .pretty big topics. And they vary enough that you might disagree strongly with one candidate and support the other.

108: Whoa, so I was JUST THINKING about this series when I scrolled down to your secret.

129. I'm a new fan to the series and I'll try not to do anything dumb in the community. This series is so awesome, I really dislike learning about WWI and WWII, but this series made them AWESOME.

I'm not even sure how they're going to do an anime :/ It doesn't strike me as something that will translate well into episodes, much less a full series.

As for the "Oh no it's gonna attract crappy fanbrats" thing, I'm not so sure about that either. The fact it's actually based on world events and history might scare a lot of people away. A lot of people probably won't even get what it's talking about.
