How to Train Your Dragon 3. I have a ticket for an early showing on February 2. A lot of other movies, but that's the one that comes out next.

My mom made my favorite chicken and broccoli casserole for dinner. Kind of excited about that. I've missed my mom's cooking.

Picking up some clothes from Torrid tomorrow and also stopping at the Apple store to pick up some headphones. I've been using cheep ones, and I don't like the way they sound.

Avengers 4. Because I'm taking the train up to my bff's house (never done that before), then we're seeing the movie, then riding the train back to here, then going to a huge organic seed festival/fair, and seeing the movie again, and hanging out for a three-day weekend and it's going to be *so fun*.

Ordered another set of custom shelves from the lady who made my other three. Can't wait for her to get them done.

Excited for my boss to be out of town for a couple days. Going to bring my sister's switch to work for us to play.

I can hopefully get my friggin' birth certificate figured out by the end of the week.

Short term: I allow myself a day off work every 3 months, and based on my schedule the most logical day to do it is tomorrow, so tomorrow it shall be.

Long term: Avengers 4. Other updates to ongoing media. Warmer weather.

Misconceptions that bug you in media

Could be major or nitpicky - what fake facts bug you when you see/read them?

One of mine is when someone suffering bloodloss and it makes their pulse slow down instead of speed up.

That we only use 10-20% of our brains, that one annoys the fuck out of me because it's completely false. We use 100% of ours brains, just not 100% of it at all times because each part of it has it's own function. But even then we're not only using 10% of it while awake or something, it fluctuates.

Yet it's a very common misconception that plagues a lot of sci-fi media so that the protagonist can get a psychic-powers upgrade down the line.

People with nosebleeds tilting their heads back or being advised to do so. You tilt it fucking forward, you nitwits. Not only is the error curiously omnipresent, but it makes me want to gag thinking about it. Are you a vampire? No? Tilt it forward.

That if you don't see it on screen, it didn't happen. Apparently, some people actually believe that Steve Rogers didn't know that Tony Stark got his arc reactor removed. Because he never explicitly tells him.

The late night TMI thread...

(Anonymous) 2019-01-22 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
The older I get, the more I appreciate a good bowel movement. You know, the ones that come out quick and easy (but not TOO quick, if you know what I mean) and painless and that are so cathartic that afterwards you feel kind of... empty. Ahhhh, that's the stuff, baby!
