I used to feel the same...when I was a teen. Now I’m an adult and attracted to other adults. I’m not saying I necessarily want a fur-covered torso (or back), but hairless is too prepubescent to me.

(Anonymous) 2019-02-03 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, fuck right off. There's nothing "prepubescent" about a grown ass man having a smooth chest.

(Anonymous) 2019-02-04 10:16 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, fuck right off with that shit.

(Anonymous) 2019-02-03 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Saaaaame. I actually am kind of creeped out by hairless waxed torsos now.

(Anonymous) 2019-02-04 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
I sure hope you never do any aesthetic grooming. You better be a legbeard through and through.

(Anonymous) 2019-02-04 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
Yep, childlike hairlessness and untamed yeti sure are the only two options there.

(Anonymous) 2019-02-04 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
There are people of various racial backgrounds who don't grow a lot of body hair. We're not prepubescent, thanks.

(Anonymous) 2019-02-04 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
And they still grow some body hair, unless they've got alopecia or are lizard people. Your hairless body fantasy isn't a cultural pride thing, thanks.

(Anonymous) 2019-02-04 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
It's not a cultural pride thing, it's a "let's try not to be racist" thing. It's really not that difficult.

People who suffer from alopecia are also not prepubescent, btw.

The point is that body hair has no relation to maturity. If you don't have a lot of body hair, that doesn't mean that you're immature.

(Anonymous) 2019-02-04 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
Right, sure, this is absolutely what prepubescent boys look like.

https://cdn1.thr.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/scale_crop_768_433/2011/07/captain_americaproportioned_a_l.jpg

When I see this scene that's immediately where my mind goes. "What a child. Peggy sure is a pedo. Yuck." Uh huh.

(Anonymous) 2019-02-04 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
No but I do automatically think he looks like a ken doll and get distracted by the absurdity of his perfectly waxed torso. Creeeepy.

(Anonymous) 2019-02-04 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
That's fine. I feel very differently. You're being senselessly judgey ITT anon.

(Anonymous) 2019-02-04 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
SA - should have known that would set people off. Body hair - in the absence of a medical condition - is a human (indeed mammalian) trait. Growing more of it in various locations upon sexual maturity is, broadly speaking, a human trait. Not everyone grows as much as everyone else, true, but it's rightfully perceived as a part of puberty. Sorry if facts upset you.

(Anonymous) 2019-02-04 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
"hurrr if you don't like body hair you're a covert pedo into prepubescent people sorry but those are the facts *smug*"

This entire comment section, but especially yours, is why no one likes body hair advocates. You're all complete assholes.

(Anonymous) 2019-02-04 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
I repeat: "hairless is too prepubescent to me." Emphasis on "to me". Didn't realize I was the only one commenting on this secret who wasn't allowed a personal opinion/preference.

And I said that, for most people, growing body hair at puberty is a fact, not that people who like less or no hair are pedophiles. Reading comprehension skills are important and useful, so you should probably learn some!

No we're not. We just like a bit of body hair on men. but we do all the generalising, sure.

/sarcasm in case you missed it

(Anonymous) 2019-02-04 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
No one in this thread is saying that a person with zero body hair anywhere is the norm.

However, I know men who have zero chest hair, and less arm and leg hair than I do (I'm female with light hair, for reference). It's completely normal and natural for them. Amount of body hair in adults ranges widely from person to person and also, yes, race is often a factor in that. A man with no chest hair is no more abnormal than a man who is quite hirsute.

Sorry if facts upset you. You rude wank baiter.

(Anonymous) 2019-02-04 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
*gasp* Are you telling me that people vary in their appearance? I'm shocked to learn that! I'm not saying that all men without a lot of body hair are ugly, or childlike, or whatever so many people are taking offense at. I'm saying that I PERSONALLY prefer men with chest hair in part because of the mental connection I have regarding puberty/body hair, even if I'm well aware that it is not universal in all men.

FFS. When I see anyone raving about breast sizes on actresses or talking about people with breasts growing them in their teens as part of puberty, I don't get offended on behalf of my negative-A cup size or feel like less of a woman because of it or talk about all the small- and medium-chested women I know to prove we exist. I simply recognize that people who like breasts have a right to their opinion as to how big is sexy to them.

Some adults shave. Some adults are even naturally hairless. People who are attracted to hairless adults are not into children, and that's a ridiculous claim. People are allowed to have personal taste. The expectation that women must always remove all body hair is a problem. But personal attraction is not the problem.

Good thing I didn't make that claim then.

People are allowed to have personal taste.
Except me, apparently.

That's weird, since amount of body hair isn't a foolproof indicator of physical maturity or chronological age.

(Anonymous) 2019-02-04 08:27 am (UTC)(link)
yeah, my capacity to tolerate body hair on dudes has changed drastically as I've gotten older. The variety of body types I'll look at expanded too.

I'm still down for hairlessness, but might taste in dudes already leaned so far on the older side that simply giving them a shave ain't going to make them look younger by any significant standard.

(Anonymous) 2019-02-04 01:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't count the number of discussions and think pieces I've seen about hairlessness in women being purposely designed to make them appear barely legal in order to titillate men who are into that sort of thing and whether that's exploitative in TV/movies, but the moment you suggest hairlessness in men might lead to the same connotations in some people's eyes, you're apparently a racist who doesn't appreciate the diversity of the male body. I'd argue that at least sometimes waxed chests are used to deliberately appear younger and less "threatening" in their masculinity, and perhaps you even see that in movies like Captain America (when the actor clearly has hair on his chest) because the target demographics are likely to be into that look and/or respond to the underlying messages it sends, not because "well, some men don't have a lot of body hair".
