ME TOO! :D

136. Aw, no love for the warriors secret? And yes, that is fairly weird, but possibly not as weird as the fact that I keep hearing Simba from the Lion King. Um. They are both cats, that’s the most sense I can make out of that one. (I mean the writers are British and so am I, wherefore the American?)

Please tell me that you're not that retarded to have to steal other people's phrasings ONCE AGAIN??!!

But you obviously are.

Just joining in with the chorus of 'please be posting now'. Also... *shifty look*... Obscureslash.net (http://www.obscureslash.net/)... Just sayin'...

101. I do. I made a secret about it ages ago, too. Still, I feel like I'm the only 19-year-old with imaginary friends... >_>;;

171. Th- they're brothers? I have no idea what the secret's about, just... uh. Brothers. Um. How?

171, not OP

[identity profile] bramble-patch.livejournal.com 2008-09-11 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Don John and Don Pedro in one of the more recent film versions of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing. Yeah, I've kind of wondered what kind of crack whoever did the casting was on, to cast Keanu Reeves and Denzel Washington as brothers.

120. You are me about a month ago. Then the BD wank started, I paid attention, and realized the awesomeness that is RPattz. His slagging of the series and movie has been gold.

134. Heh! Well, he does have a 50 million gigawatt smile. I adore him (credit card company whoredom aside, but I've always been able to pay my monthly bill in full, so I don't care about that voting record so much).

147. Hear, hear! Frodo was a hapless idiot and Boromir, who had a clear conviction of what he could do to save his country, was treated as shifty and evil by that stupid hobbit.

165. I've never seen it personally myself, either.

[identity profile] sallybanner.livejournal.com 2008-09-11 02:38 pm (UTC)(link)
frodo's distrust of boromir was totally warrented. boromir was being swayed by the ring, the ring was convincing him that if he took it, he could save gondor. Surely, if he had been successful, the ring would have found a way to betray him as it did isildur. boromir was not evil, was never intended to be evil. he was intended to be a normal guy who made a mistake and then made up for it in the most glorious way: sacrificing his own life to try and save others.

Not OP, but chiming in

[identity profile] bramble-patch.livejournal.com 2008-09-11 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Eh... I'd say that while Boromir was definitely being affected by the Ring, we also need to remember that Frodo had been under the influence of the Ring for much longer than Boromir was. While Hobbits are resistant to the Ring's power, they aren't immune. I'm not saying that Frodo's paranoia was entirely unfounded, but he was probably quite a bit more suspicious of, well, everyone than he really needed to be.

[identity profile] tsukinofaerii.livejournal.com 2008-09-11 02:56 pm (UTC)(link)
102. Okay, I wasn't going to comment (don't even know the series), but this is a standing peeve of mine. No one else has commented on this, which makes me sad.

Crave. It is a verb, and follows those rules. Only sometimes a noun (in the sense of having a craving).

You do not "crave for X", nor do you "crave to X". You "have a craving for X" (noun use) or "crave X" (verb use). Every time I see it misused this way I worry for the English grammar that people apparently aren't being taught. My apologies if you're ESL.

Yes, this is snarky, but I'm seeing this use way too often and it gnaws at me.

147: That means you have about... an hour, maybe two of total viewing in all three films. o.O Why bother?

168. Shipping Bed Death (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ShippingBedDeath). Don't worry, it happens. ^_^

Edited for a silly error.

102 OP

(Anonymous) 2008-09-11 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
You know; it never even registered that I used that word.
Maybe I was thinking to not write stuff like myself and thus 'crave'.
Oh gosh... /embarrassed >.>

101- Awesome. Seriously. I think to fictional characters for strength as well, and I think that's the primary goal of fiction/literature... to motivate us, inspire us, and make us better people.

147- It's been a LONG time since I read the books, but as far as movie!Boromir goes, I think Frodo was right to be wary. Not because Boromir was a bad man. He was an extremely good man. I don't think the movie meant us to see him as evil at all. But Frodo saw in Boromir, I believe, that there was something Boromir wanted to protect so badly that he would be susceptible to the ring's lure. He loved his country so much, and was such a good defender of it, that his main goal would always be to save Gondor any way he could.

It was heartbreaking, and I did feel Frodo could've been kinder to him, but no one is perfect. Boromir didn't die because Frodo didn't trust him... he died because he was a protector to the end, saving those who were weaker than himself at the cost of his own life.

140. POST THE DAMN MSTPORN.

141. Given Peter's age and general lack of maturity, that's probably a good thing. And that Hook was the most dead sexy Hook ever do want plz.

151. It's the hand motions combined with the floating. They don't move like anything natural and it creeps people out on general principle.

186. Aw, sad Dr. Manhattan is sad.

#186: I don't know how they're going to keep it at just an "R" rating if they show too much of the Jon!Dong. I think it was extremely blurry in the trailer. That's probably the angle they're going to take.

01. People with good coping skills do that. Believe me, I'm a mental health worker (social worker), so I know good coping skills when I see them! I wish more of my clients dealt with their pain that way.

*hugs*
