Uh, no. Part of the appeal of mpreg for me is precisely because it's a man in that position. It loses literally all the appeal when it's a woman. Kind of like how I can't stand het that involves dominant!man/submissive!woman, I vastly prefer dominant!woman/submissive!man.

It's also not "internalized misogyny" that I'm horrified at the prospect of becoming pregnant.

If they wanted to have a subversion they shouldn't write those male characters as basically chicks with dicks. They already feminise male characters beyond recognition, might as well just write women in the first place since there's barely a difference anymore anyway.

Eh. I understand your frustration with OOCness, but saying they might as well be chicks is ignoring every other factor and reducing gender to a set of behaviors which doesn't really work for your argument

I should also specify that it really depends on the character. Like I love mpreg of Newt Scamander because he's maternal, refers to himself as "mum" with his creatures, and I just think he'd be happy as an actual mom (or have him angst over his inability to get pregnant). But mpreg involving, say, Bucky or Steve getting knocked up does absolutely nothing for me.

It's kind of the opposite for me. I like to see the most stereotypically masculine one getting knocked up - it's so interesting to see how that sort of personality would express itself in that position.

I'm not necessarily *into* mpreg, but as a woman who really resents woman being put into weaker, submissive, or caretaker roles, it's neat to see it with a man because those gender roles don't inherently exist anymore. At that point, they get put into the role solely based on looks or personality. It's sexier to have one guy being alpha to another guy because it's purely based on their personality dynamic, without any sexism* at play.

*obviously in like a/b/o there is usually an element of imagined "sexism" a la alphas and omegas, but it's not based on actual gender, which is a squick for me.
