I'm just hoping they don't just do a hard reset all of the siblings' relationships with each other as a result of that ending. That family is a giant mess, but I'd rather see improvement through character development and not a total clean slate, you know?

Yeah, I'd question the sanity of people who thought the earth was flat or that the Holocaust never happened - especially the latter, because that isn't just kookiness, it reeks of antisemitism. Anti-vaxxers are another deal breaker for me. It's not just the issue itself, it's... ignorance and bad judgment. It's lack of critical thinking skills and refusal to face reality and frankly, people who have those issues tend to be more trouble than they're worth.

According to Kaiser, Steven Universe is now outdated, because if it had been written starting now, it would support violent revolution instead of peaceful negotiation. The idea that Rebecca Sugar could currently support peaceful negotiation, with full knowledge of current events, doesn't seem to have occurred to her.

I don't think this is a contradictory thing to say. It might or might not be a correct stance, but I think it's at least coherent. It's an opinion about what the work should do, not an opinion about what the creator would actually do.

I'm not familiar enough with the website or the arguments or the context, I'm just going off the example provided.

I guess there's a chance that OP doesn't understand what homeopathy means and isn't using the term correctly, but it's not a catch-all phrase for "stuff that hasn't been scientifically proven". I assumed they're using it literally... which is to say, "correctly".

I just feel like... I mean, come on, it's a nice idea, but the TARDIS is not actually a character, outside of one episode. It's just a thing people say.

I suppose it might look morbid, but true crime is an interest of mine, too. I enjoy hearing about the investigation of a mystery, the forensic aspect of solving it, and I especially appreciate it when the criminal is caught at the end. The shock value is part of what makes it so interesting because it makes me think about human behavior and the psychological aspect of why people do bad things. I don't think there's anything wrong or particularly unusual about that.

Anti-vaxxers, flat-earthers, holocaust deniers, “moonlanding was fake” believers, people who are into homeopathy or believe otc essential oil combos cure cancer, people who believe in lizard people or the illuminati/secret world government cabals, “aliens among us/I was taken to a spaceship and probed by aliens before returning to my suburban bedroom” nuts, “Jesus tells me you’re going to hell” whackos...

I’m sure I’ve forgotten some. I don’t mind religious people in general, or “lavender oil helps me calm down” type herbal enthusiasts, and I believe aliens exist, just not that they’ve secretly been hanging around Earth running experiments on humanity or leaving cryptic messages in cornfields.

Fingers crossed that this is just unfortunate wording and that you don't think that Criminal Minds is a true crime documentary series, or even true life-inspired. (Maybe some of the early eps, but most of the show is complete fiction.)

Personally, I had to stop watching when the bad guys got too ridiculous. It didn't feel "wrong" or exploitative as long as I felt like I was learning something.

I'll also throw in the "Sandy Hook and other mass shootings were staged!" dipshits and the people who think Obama wasn't born here and things of that sort. That's a special level of stupidity I just can't begin to fathom, and I could not be around somebody who honest to god believed such insulting, horrible things.

Since an anon recced it on FS I started watching Shadowhunters. Does anyone have recs for fics or vids?

My favourite is Alec, so double love for everything that involves him. Obviously, Alec/Magnus but also siblings feels with Izzy, Jace and Max, exploration of the parabatei bond, Alec&Clary friendship, etc. Just no "bad parent Maryse", please (I found her heel-face-turn obvious from the get-go so I could never get into that particular trope).

At least some of the stuff he sells is associated with reiki. (Which is weird, because I thought reiki involved directly touching the patient, and this seems to involve touching the ingredients that are then applied to the animal.)

Any type of rhetoric around “stupid people shouldn’t breed” or shit like that - even the light implication of eugenics squicks me out. Also once when I was in high school and Obama was the president a classmate told me completely sincerely that she thought Obama was the Antichrist. I just didn’t know what to say to that.

Man, all the fics I have for that fandom are either explicit PWP, Bad Parent Maryse, or AU.

It's just another degree of pseudoscience, really. If people believe you can affect other peoples' energies by touch, then it's not that far of a step to believe you can do it with inanimate objects as well. None of it is provable or backed up by science, it's all what sounds good to gullible audiences.

IMO, it's what happens when fundamental conservatism gets a heaping spoonful of racism. I'm related to people who felt the same way. They were just so horrified and repelled by the idea of a brown person as President that of course he must be evil or some crap like that. They literally couldn't conceive of Obama any other way, they didn't have any substantive objections to his platform or policies (because they didn't know his platform or his policies) it was just... OMG brown boogeyman, look out!

Okay, so I've read a few stories where Ichigo gets tired of getting the cold shoulder from friends and family during the timeskip post-Winter War, and he buggers off for some other place. I'd like to read more, but it's really hard to work out the search terms for stories like this.
