6 job applications done. General searching for jobs. 1 of them is in Boston with an organization I would really love to work for. Ate at a so-so Thai place for lunch with my parents. Did laundry. Now I'm surfing Not Always Right.

Lazy day. Got Starbucks, smoked a bowl. But I did the dishes, cleaned up the kitchen, and took out the recycling, so it wasn't totally unproductive. Probably going to settle in for the night in an hour or two, with a glass of wine and a novel.

Got back to sleep around 5, but I'm still feeling pretty rough.

Worked on embroidery. I'm not good at it, but something about the repetitive motions helps me relax.

Ehh, alright. There was dead rat in my pool filter, and had to figure out a way to get it out without touching it... (had to use gardening tools, not fun) Tried to make myself feel better by reading what turned out to be really bad fanfic, slogged my way through it until I reached the line, "he used bubblegum toothpaste because the mint was always too spicy for him" and why they needed to add that is way beyond me. Quit it right afterward, and now trying to play games on my PC, but it's lagging so that isn't working too well either...

Samwell Tarley shouldn't have stayed fat. There is nothing in all of Westeros or the wider world to explain why he didn't lose weight the same as a person in our world would. They could explain dragons existing and returning but they couldn't explain that.

Sherlock's parents in BBC Sherlock are not the normal, supportive parents we saw in the series. They were deeply negligent at best, and psychological/emotionally abusive at worst. To me, everything about who Sherlock and Mycroft are as people suggests they have no real concept of what healthy, genuine emotional and psychological nurture is.


Also, Sherlock's name is Sherlock, not William. He's one of the most famous and enduring characters in all of fiction; you don't just get to rename him because you think you're being clever, Moffat.
