Yup. Rage quit the DS version of FF4, the 3DS version of Starfox 64. The difficulty levels were ridiculous with the former, and the latter wasn't really fit for the controls of the 3DS IMO. Fortunately, I'd already completed previous versions of both on older consoles, so I didn't really miss out on anything.

I ragequit one of those P2W freemium games, technically. Took me like a year and a half, but fortunately, I never made any in-game purchases. Just wasted a year and a half of my life on shitty rigged game :/ but at least I don't do that shit anymore.

Usually I just lose interest over time, but definitely The Magicians right after last season's finale.

There was this CGI anime called Seikaisuru Kado some time ago and it started out quite interesting with nice characters and then it suddenly made a massive turn into absolute shitfest territory after the 7th or 9th episode (it was one of the shorter anime with ~13 episodes).

And less rage and more sad-quit (though there was some rage as well): I read spoilers for the end of Persona 3 when I was fairly close to the boss battle. I never finished the game after that.

Eureka Seven, at what was probably the end of season 1. I'd bought DVD sets for both seasons, but never finished the second one after the point where the initially kickass love interest was traumatised into some helpless sack of ~feelings~ while the hero got to save her with the powers she'd lost.

I don't remember the details, but that was the impression I was left with. And I never went back for the rest of it.

Re: Sort of based on 6

(Anonymous) 2019-10-05 07:14 am (UTC)(link)
That's too bad. The show gets much better in the second half and Eureka becomes actually kickass (because I disagree that she even was at first, she was good at fighting but not an interesting character) and gets great character development.

I think you missed the point, which was Renton put her on a pedestal when she was barely functional as a person and still learning how to be a person, and then she fell apart when she had a feud with her partner (not Renton!).

I actually really like how the story goes, and ultimately the story is one about polyamory in a way you don't expect and how relationships fall apart without communication.

(Nirvash is alive, there's no POWERS involved, Nirvash is just being a petty bitch.)

Ori and the Blind Forest. Got stuck on one part where you have bash from one point to another quickly. I could not get past it after weeks.

Glee, mid season 3 when I realized that it was never gonna come back from 98% The Blaine Show (feat. Rachel). I even liked his character, but jfc I did not care so much that the entire show needed to be about him.

I read a book series a while ago where one of my favorite characters ended up being killed. I dropped the book like a hot potato and didn't bother reading the rest of the book.

Son of a Witch by Gregory Maguire where the main characters basically gets raped by some girl to "heal him" while he's comatose, she gets pregnant and still ends up as his true love or some shit.

A podcast where one of the hosts mentioned voting for Trump.

A show (Gone) where a character was estranged from his family because they kicked him out as a teenager for being gay, and all the main characters were guilting him about it and kept saying "but they're family!" and telling him he needed to "make amends". FUCK. THAT.

Game of Thrones, the books at least after Oberyn died because I really liked him, and even though I knew it'd happen in the show too I also got annoyed and stopped watching after that point. But I was also growing more and more apathetic to the whole show by then too. Watched the last season just to see how badly it would fail to live up to fan expectations and had a blast watching it get worse every week.

Otherwise I tend to loose interest over time and just quietly wander off, did this with Supernatural, Glee, Castle, Arrow, Bones, probably more I can't remember too.

Probably one exact thing, if only because the more I like something the less likely I am to finish it. There has been many things I've rage finishing, however. Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, is one of them.

I was reading a My Hero Academia fic where Izuku is All Might's biological son, neither knows, and Izuku inherited One For All. In this story, Izuku was pushed into using it way before he was ready (by Bakugou of course), and blew off his own arm.
Anyway, Aizawa becomes his mentor, and works out where Izuku gets his quirk from. And then he decides not to tell Izuku, because 'it's not his secret to tell' or some shit. It is about him! It has a direct and very obvious impact on his health and wellbeing! And you're keeping it from him for bullshit reasons! Give up your teaching licence! >:(

Every fanfic where the designated 'sub' character is a weepy, frail, zero-self-esteem, trembly, sad super-woobie. ESPECIALLY when it's someone like Spike or Bucky Barnes or Dean Winchester.

Old show, but The Mentalist. I was amazed after the season 3 finale when Jayne shot Red John in a shopping mall and then calmly waited to be arrested. I thought, wow, this is such great story telling, there are so many places the show can go, and won't it be interesting to explore the character when he's no longer revenge driven. But then the first episode of season 4 happened and they retconned it and it wasn't Red John and we were back to searching for Red John with procedural typical stuff mixed in and I was just DONE, even though I was never fannish about the show.

I wander away from shows all the time, but the only time I can remember rage-quitting a show was Bones. It was the season premier where Brennan comes back from being gone. I think she was doing some kind of archaeological research or something? And everyone basically shamed her for ~abandoning them~. Despite the fact that it's her life and her career and she can do what she fucking wants, you assholes!!! So yeah, I rage quit that. But I was already pretty annoyed by the show at that point.

I tried watching 4.01 of Lucifer (after wandering away during S2), and then very emphatically decided I would not be watching any more because that was an hour of my life I was never getting back.

SPOILERS FOR LOVE IN THE TIME OF CHOLERA BELOW...

I wanted to rage quit Love In The Time Of Cholera when the protagonist begins sexually abusing his 14-year-old ward. But I was like 4/5ths of the way through at that point so I made my self finish it.

Yes, Supernatural after Wayward Sisters was not picked up. I know that's unfair, but I just couldn't stand it anymore. I quit the fandom too.
