Very little else could convince me to argue in Snape's favor, but if you really think you're that much better than he is, I really can't let it go. Snape is a grizzled, embittered veteran of the last fight against Voldemort. He has no desire to be a teacher, and no patience for foolishness. Neville just had the poor fortune to be the living embodiment of timidity and mediocrity for his first five years or so at Hogwarts. I'm not saying that it's alright to belittle and ridicule the students, but Snape's behavior only differs from his colleagues' in terms of degree. Dumbledore treats them with the utmost respect. Just about everyone else, from McGonagall to Ms. Pince, is condescending and sarcastic on a regular basis. Now, about Trevor: I'm sorry, but what better way to make everyone realize that mixing potions correctly could be a matter of life and death? You've seen the way Voldemort treats human beings. Can you really expect someone who used to work for him to appreciate the intrinsic worth of a pet toad?

I thought the epilogue was badly written and didn't like it very much (Albus Severus Potter FTL), but calling it "fuck you fandom" is ridiculous.
