Whenever I see this kind of secret, I always have to wonder who the OP is talking about. I've never seen this sentiment. I've seen people comment (albeit irritably) that it's kind of out there to think that every serious romantic relationship a guy has ever had has been a facade, simply because he's close friends with his costar. But I honestly haven't seen any of this supposedly rampant homophobia in the fandom.

[Not OP] I haven't seen that sentiment on LJ (though I'm sure it's here in corners of fandom I don't go into), but I have seen it while passing through elsewhere -- fan site message boards, blogs, etc. LOL, a quick google search found this thread (http://www.q-blogs.com/blog.php?user=ishegay¬e=992) which cracked me right the hell up, especially this comment:
