Just because DS9 has a lot of things going for it doesn't mean that those things are "objectively" more valuable to everyone. And I say this as someone who does generally like DS9 more than the other series.

Subjectively? I adore DS9 above all other Treks, because to me, for every criteria I apply, it's superior by a large margin, but I can accept that others might have reasons to have a different opinion. (Primarily because I know people who adore TNG, for example. I do not, but I would not tell people who love it that they are "wrong." People love what they love.)

And tbh if someone's fave Trek is Voyager(which I largely don't like all of) I'm not going to argue with them on it because they can have their opinion, even if I'll disagree with them.

(Anonymous) 2019-12-15 12:55 am (UTC)(link)Each of them have different strengths. DS9 is excellent for exploring the long-term impact of the Federation on an area, and for long-term conflicts in the Trek universe, but it's also largely stationary, so if you came to Trek for the exploration it's not your best choice, and it also usually takes more of a serious, darker tone, so if you came for a higher 'whacky shenanigans' quota along with your ethical/moral conundrums, you might want to pick something else as well. So I think it depends on what you want in your Trek.
