Anyone need to complain about anything?

My sleeping schedule is so screwed up lately. I actually woke up at a decent time today for once! But instead of doing stuff and being productive, I just laid around and then took a long nap and of course I can't imagine being tired anytime soon, and there's no way I'm getting much sleep tonight before having to wake up early for work in the morning. Uggghhh.

There's so much I need to do, and I needed to go to a certain store because of a sale that ends tonight, and even though I technically still can because they're open for a couple more hours, it's cold outside and I'm still in my pajamas and I just don't feel like it, gah.

Also, one of my favorite shows is in its last season and it's looking like my ship is going to be endgame. It would be only the second time that's ever happened and it would be awesome but for whatever reason the ship is insanely unpopular and all I'm seeing is comments about how it's horrible and it sucks and it's going to ruin the show and "nobody" wants it to happen with lots of people agreeing and it's just bumming me out. I've always lurked on the forum where the majority of discussion takes place and I've thought of actually posting and being like "hey, not EVERYBODY hates them!" but I'd probably just get insulted so I'm not sure there's any point.

Anyone else want to whine about stuff? :D

Oh, lord, do I ever sympathize with your last paragraph about the pairing. I'm in the same situation with one of my fandoms, too, except in my case I'm not sure mine will be endgame. At most, we'll likely just have the confirmation that there's been feelings that weren't entirely platonic.

I'd be all for it becoming canon officially, but I've also accepted the possibility that it won't. I do like their friendship, too, so if they're still friends at the end of it all, I'll be just as good with that. But yes, trying to have a discussion about the pairing of late in the fandom has been...exhausting, to say the least.

Anywho, I hope things work out okay for you with your pairing/show, and that you can find some other fans of the pairing to squee with, and all that good stuff :).

I thought my fucking ankle was healing, when what should happen today but FUCKING PAIN during exercise? I made the call to cut the session early. I can walk on it but I feel it regressing to that stage where I have to lean in all stupid ways in order to get the fucking ankle not to bother me. Can't wear a boot because it just makes it worse.

I need this shit to stop. I can't choose for this to continue, and I can't afford for it to do so.

I bought laundry detergent, among other things, last night and I go to get everything out of the trunk of the car and find that the bottle cap had come unscrewed and most of the bottle of liquid detergent had leaked down to the floor of the backseat. All I can think is someone had partially unscrewed the cap (or not screwed it back on all the way) and left it on the shelf like that because I can't see how the cap could have unscrewed itself all the way just by the bottle tipping over in the trunk.

I wiped things up a bit with paper towels, pulled out the floor mat, and put an old towel down to hopefully soak things up, but I can't see a way to actually clean this since scrubbing or water would just produce a lot of suds. I'm just going to have to let it dry and leave it. It didn't get on the seat and I wiped off what was on the door, so it's just the rear floor and I almost never have passengers in my car. It's an old car, anyway.

At least it was unscented detergent.

On top of everything, I'm still low on laundry detergent!

Oh no. I'm having flashbacks to that one time we were involved in a minor accident when we were driving home from the shops. Everyone was fine but the three bottles of wine we had just bought broke and the trunk of the car stank for months.

When i buy detergent, the guy at the Dollar General always tightens the lid down super-tight in case. Which is nice, except then I can barely open the damn thing.

Seems like most everyone is saying (online) to spray it down with warm water then use a carpet cleaning machine to suck it all up (several times if necessary). I guess you could use a wet-vac, too, if you had one.

I'm probably going to have to rent a carpet cleaner at some point for this.

Lately I have noticed a bunch of fics with the wrong relationship tags, using A/B for a platonic relationship or A&B for a romantic ship.

It's not like there is a large number of people doing this or anything, but in the back of my mind I'm already freaking out about this ending up like the word "literally" now meaning "figuratively" too.

And even without taking into account my internal drama queen tendencies, it's annoying as fuck to be looking for shippy content and find platonic friendship or to be looking for familial fluff and getting hit with unexpected incest.

That seems like a perfectly reasonable thing to be annoyed about. If they have some sort of anonymous commenting available, you could try telling them? (With the awareness that they might turn around and scream at you, JSYK)
If it's on AO3, you can tell the mods the work is miss-tagged - I once told them about a fic that was tagged as "No Archive Warnings Apply" and that had underage rape in the first chapter, and they got back to me to say the author wasn't answering their emails, but they'd used their mod powers to change the tag to "Chose Not To Warn", which I thought was good.

The 'literally/figuratively' can be a figure of speech in some cases, where as the 'a/b, a&b' is just using the tags wrong.
Literally still means literally, its just a common misunderstood word that people don't need clarification for. I know I've probably used them interchangeably before, but that's because I speak like a valley girl.

Petty AF - I've been looking at game mods, and Christ on a cracker they are SO HORNY. Like, there's a lot of really cool mods out there, but on the whole the modding community seems to be SO HORNY! I just want to make my character not look like shit, and maybe give him a nicer haircut! I don't want to make every female character in the game sexy and naked! And YES, I have seen mods for that! Just go watch some porn already and stop making new "Giant Titties" meshes, please!

Agreed. I'm willing to bet porny mods have been a staple since the first moment modding became a thing, but it gets old pretty fast.

Yeah, this has always been a thing. Honestly, I think it's gotten better. You can at least find content now where a female character will wear full armour (both mods and games, tbh) and more tasteful alternative faces/outfits.

There are sex mods for games like Stardew Valley, Starbound or Mincraft. Nothing can weird me out anymore in that regard.

I woke up feeling congested and gross, but allergy-gross, not “aw fuck, virus infection,” gross. It mostly went away and then I moved a bunch of bags of potting soil and chicken food, raked and swept chicken shit out of the coop, and filled the trash can with brushpile detritus. Basically I breathed in a lot of dusty crap and now I feel icky again, and it’s my fault, I should’ve worn a dust mask. And I also have more stuff to do before bed.

Hey, I don't wish to alarm you but you need to keep a close eye on your respiratory health if you're reacting to bird related allergens. Mild symptoms could potentially cause long term problems when you have daily exposure. It's called Bird Fancier's Lung. I know this because I'm a former bird owner with allergy issues. Look after your lungs!

AYRT—I was vaguely aware this was a thing, but I’ve heard more about it in the “dust from livestock operations is bad news” side than the “cage bird” side. Although I may be fucked there, too, since at one point as a kid there were 17 various cage birds (lovebirds, cockatiels, parakeets, and a parrot) in the house. Also pet mice and rats and hamsters.

And I’ve been dying fabric for years and as a teen didn’t know how toxic that shit was, and didn’t wear a dust mask. So I hope cures for lung cancer get a lot better in the next 10-20 years. Good thing I never smoked, heh.

I just feel so guilty trying to get into slash stuff (profic, I mean, as opposed to fanfic) because I just can't shake the feeling that it's not for me and I'm doing something wrong reading it
