Oh no, I'm so sorry OP. That's awful. I hope you are okay and are able to be safe. I hope the rest of the day and your night goes better.

My day has been eh. My foot has been pretty bad. I had court this morning. I did go pants shopping around lunch time, even with the foot pain. Mostly because none of my work pants fit because of how much weight I've lost. I didn't realize how bad it had gotten until I had hearings every day this week and had my pants nearly falling off every time. Had to hold them up. It wasn't good. So I bought 3 dress pants and a pair of turquoise jeans. I'm down 2 sizes, so that feels good.

Now I'm just laying in bed reading. I'm probably going to sack out soon. I'm pretty tired and I took a pain pill.

That is awful!

My sore throat is back again. I have had one off and on for like 2 months. Going to the doctor next week for a check up so I can ask her what is up then. I also bought a humidifier in case that is the problem.

Speaking as a mother, that was a shitty thing for her to do. I'm glad they were able to help you though.

My day wasn't bad. Just work like usual.

(Anonymous) 2020-01-16 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, my mother does this to me from time to time... I have a severe peanut allergy but she'll sneak peanut-butter cups and other peanut riddled snacks throughout the day and eat/drink from my cups/plates that could cause a deadly reaction in me. She has allergies of her own which she's had reactions for, which gives her no excuse to play dumb at what she could (and has) given to me... Other than that, she has joked that I should kill myself before, which has been a whole barrel full of fun on my off days, to say the least.

My day's been pretty good though, tbh. Got a lot done, most of which I thought I'd have to deal with latter on this week. Still waiting on a mail delivery, kinda worried that the expiry date/renewal might conflict some, but otherwise I'm doing okay.

Inspired by 4 - What classic lit adaptations would you like to see?

(Anonymous) 2020-01-16 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
From the less well known classics to ones that get adapted several times a decade, what would you like to see and how would you like to see it done?

DK Broster's "Flight of the Heron". 1745-6 Scotland, Jacobite Rising. Enemies to friends to practically lovers, story between an English redcoat and a Highland chieftain. Lots of h/c, kilts, collapsing into each others' arms, swirling mists, honourable officers, the works.

I mean, it's over-romanticised, but who's complaining?

I don't know if it's considered a classic but I would love to see a miniseries based on the novel Spring Moon.

Wizard of Oz. A faithful one. I know. Never going to happen. I have to be one of the only people in the world who hates the movie. But it was not all a dream!!!

I am surprised there are not more good adaptations of various dystopian novels like 1984, Brave New World, and Animal Farm.

I'd love to see a faithful movie or mini series adaptation of The Blue Castle, but I'm worried they'd try to make it all dark and edgy or some shit.

I want a Jekyll and Hyde movie or show that's faithful to the novel. No love interests and Utterson as the main character.

Monte Cristo
Rosenkavalier
Julius Caesar would be particularly timely right now.

CHARACTERS WHO PISS YOU OFF?!

(Anonymous) 2020-01-16 08:04 am (UTC)(link)
WELL!!-- I'm playing Uncharted right now, and I am so pissed at the direction they went with!! I haven't been this angry with a character since I was in my teens, and fucking hell, I am PISSED!
I got through Thiefs End with minimal-moderate fury at the shit decision they made to make Sam a plausible character! Only because they never pretended to have him be anything other than a writers insert Gary-Stu who everybody hates. Not even Nate can tolerate this bitch... and when he said he wasn't going to go back for him, he meant it. It wasn't a bluff. The only reason he did go back was because Sully and Elena went back for him and he couldn't leave them behind..
But people fucking like him? How? Most fic is Sam/Reader? WHY?!

And then The Lost Legacy comes out... Oh~ Chloe has some fake pretend tragic past to make Nadine side with her! Great. And then there's talk about some 'expert'... and then there's talk about how Chloe's father was some great archeologist that Nadine wont stop talking about, and you know what?! I would prefer some soap opera cliché where Chloe's father tries to steal the Tusk from her, rather than this absolute piece of garbage coming in like has ANY reason being there!! FUCK!!!

AUUGGHHHHH1!!!!!bddfkhdpighwpojw
