Okay. So I'm trying to buy some cotton to make face masks and my local JoAnn's is only open for curbside pick-up of online orders. Great! I'll do that. Only... is it just me or is their website a pile of flaming shit? I'll elaborate.

You can, supposedly, apply filters to your searches for stuff that's available in-store. Excellent! Except that when I choose that filter, it still gives me results that say oh, it's out of stock online AND not available at your store. Then what was the fucking point of pretending like I could filter results for stuff that's available at my store??

Likewise, if you want to order online some fabrics need a 2 yard minimum. Okay! I'll order at least two yards... oh wait, it's STILL not available to me? What the fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck??

And then I'll ask it to show me only cotton, NOT knit, flannel or fleece. And there in my search results, knits and flannel and fleece. FUCK YOU JOANN FABRIC.

Some jerk in my apt bldg has been stealing mail. The mailboxes are locked but they have broken the lock several times. The bldg manager said she already called the cops. Netflix has threatened to cut me off twice and I'm also worried about my rent check and other necessities being stolen to the point of checking the mailboxes several times a day. The post office WILL NOT give out any information about what time they can be expected so that I can get my mail right when it comes and it sometimes comes very late. Day before yesterday it didn't show up till 6:30 in the evening.

Uuuuuugh my DAD

So the first problem is that he sits at the computer all day listening to the radio (digital radio) at TOP VOLUME. I mean very seriously, the volume knob is turned aaaaaaaaall the way up. I use my laptop in the next room (where the only table I use is), and I'm wearing my headphones just to muffle the radio a little tiny bit.
And he INSISTS he's not going deaf! Great, Dad, but now I am!
He'll turn it down if I complain... and then turn it back up half an hour later. Every time.

Also, less of a problem but still annoying, is that he has a fan heater set up next to him and it's on like all the time. That room is a fucking oven, and it's like 20°C and full sunshine today, why does he need a heater at all???

I’ve been washing my clothes by hand and hanging them (well, throwing them over the bushes) to dry in my yard so I can avoid the laundromat. I came home from work and was taking my dry clothes in earlier. Then I started doing the dishes from this morning. Then I felt something on my leg and tried to shake it off... and then I got stung by a bee.

Ow ow ow. It’s not debilitating but I am kind of tempted to call in to work tomorrow; we aren’t open to the public or doing essential work right now and I woke up with a pounding heart and stabbing headache this morning after not sleeping much last night. I think I got the stinger out but I know from experience that when the pain fades it’s gonna itch like hell. And I’m already taking non-drowsy antihistamines to head off my seasonal allergies being mistaken for covid by my panicking brain or coworkers, so I can’t take more for the itching and swelling.

*sigh* Damnit.

I like buying stuff online.
I do not like waiting over a week for my stuff to come from a warehouse that is, in all likelihood, about four hours away.

We re-watched the Shawshank Redemption on Saturday and I've always cried at the end, often cried at Brooks's death but on this occasion I also cried when Andy secures some beers for his fellow cons. Wtf.

I've been watching Classic Who and finished Earthshock yesterday. I was really surprised to find myself crying after Adric died. I didn't even like Adric! I dunno, maybe it was just everyone else's reactions to his death that made me sad.

I read a piece of fanfic where the main character is essentially under house arrest in someone else's house, can't communicate with any of his loved ones, and is under the power of someone he believes hates him and wants him to suffer. Unsurprisingly, he becomes extremely depressed.
It was... very affecting.
