the dumbest part about this is imagining some supposedly rich, stoic 30 year old yaoi seme purposely loading up reddit dot com, browsing to r/relationships which is surely a subreddit he reads and whose rules and guidelines he is familiar with, and carefully typing up this tl;dr post about his relationship and pouring out all his feelings to the anonymous drama-slurping masses

if you're gonna play BL make believe story time, at least don't be OOC in the very first second to the character you're writing. all of r/relationships is RP, but this is terrible RP

I think because grief is hard to write.

It is hard to sustain, writing-wise - it can be a drain to write, along with being a drain for the audience to watch and so, after a while, the writer wants to move on and they make the character move on.

Sort of related, I get annoyed when media brings up the five stages of grief for someone who has lost a loved one, since that model was developed specifically from studying how terminally-ill patients deal with their own impending death. Yes, someone grieving might experience any or all of them, but not necessarily, plus a whole lot more, like what is shown in your secret. And it will also depend on the relationship, how and when the death occurred, and the person grieving.
