Weekend Plans DRUNK EDITION!

anyway I'm picking up a preorder of a dozen native plants tomorrow, m'gonna plant and then m'gonna sit back and wait for the rain to nourish them. My prairie patch is doing well so now I'm shifting to adding shade-tolerant forest plants and wildflowers.

Other than that, will be watching The Great. If I finish that and still have time I'll go back to watching Rizzoli and Isles.
Drinking is fun. I'm on pain meds right now, so no drinking for me. It is pouring and thundering here right now. Hope you and I both get some sun this weekend.

(Anonymous) 2020-05-16 04:55 am (UTC)(link)I hope I find out soon when and how my work’s gonna reopen to the public, because I desperately want to take at least a week off beforehand. When we were furloughed, I was too busy panicking about my finances, my job, my elderly (only, few) relatives, and my health to enjoy it, and now that I’m back at work I get to add in panicking about catching covid on the trolley and passing it to coworkers. I want some time off where I can just ignore the news and stay in for a week instead of constantly having to check my work email for instructions and compulsively pouring over local news in fear of budget cuts. Especially because I have tons of time off that’ll go unused otherwise, because so many events were cancelled.

But otherwise I finally discovered a way to keep myself from over eating, and it's to visualize the bulk of food I eat on my forearm. (be warned apparently this make less than zero sense to anyone but me) The (approximate) surface area from just past my wrist to the natural crease about an inch before my elbow is all I'm allowing myself to eat in a single sitting. Every hour post meal I remove a fifth of the 'consumed' area, so basically after eating a 'full' meal it's a five hour interval before my 'tank'/arm reads as 'empty'.
It's helped me quite a lot since I have moderate OCD where I feel the need to eat all leftovers before my family throws them out in fear of food being wasted, and a slightly severe OCD where anything on my plate must be eaten otherwise it'll go to waste. More than that is that I don't necessarily get full or hungry, basically I don't feel it, so there's no real STOP my body sends me to stop eating, I just have to gauge it. Luckily I am very logically minded so I can override my OCD by way of visual evidence that my stomach can only hold so much and a forearms length is plenty by far. Obviously I still become anxious and all that, but for the first time in years I was able to stop eating a slice of pizza halfway and pack the rest of my meal up in the fridge for tomorrow.
