i used to be absolutely terrified of the x files theme song. like a chill would run down my spine whenever i would heard the first few notes that dreaded whistle smh. and my parents were fans but i never said anything, just suffered in silence*~*~
last year i made it my ringtone. practically speaking, bc that whistle is rly easy to hear when it's noisy or i'm in another room etc. but also it's a jam, what was my deal?!

(Anonymous) 2020-05-20 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)As for why it scared you so much, I think movies can be especially overwhelming for kids, and kids have way less experience with the world, so it's harder for them to notice when special effects are silly/cheesy. That might be some of why?

Some of the scary-movies-but-made-for-younger-audience movies are more creepy and unsettling than legit rated R horror movies. How I'll never know.
The Halloween movies always gave me creeps too and the stampede scene in The Lion King.
