Kind of? I'm more open to ideas of things potentially being real than I am a believer of things.

It's a bit like, I don't believe in ghosts 100%, but I also wouldn't go out my way to mess with anything like a cursed chair 'just in case'.

Not much anymore. But I hope that my father's soul is in Heaven, if there is one. I can't always with knowing he's been rotting in a box in the ground for eight years now.

No. Sometimes I wish I could but logically it doesn't make any sense to me. I think your brain is like a computer and once it totally fails, there's nothing there now. I have no first-hand knowledge of the vast stretch of time before I was born so why would my death be any different? I think this is it. If you're in a position to, may as well try and enjoy existence as much as possible while you're here.

I also don't believe in ghosts/revenants/any other reanimation of a former living human. I love reading ghost stories as entertainment but realistically have never seen anything. And surely I'm the FIRST person you'd appear to if you were a ghost? It's what I'd do - troll the unbeliever! It seems to me that ghost "sightings" happen to people who are already at least semi-convinced.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like the idea of non-existence and want to avoid it for as long as I can but I just can't find comfort in something that sounds like a nice idea (eternal bliss) but is also ultimately a coping mechanism.

Hmm. I don't, intellectually.

I certainly don't think there's a good or bad place.

I do understand why you could equate death with peace and why people believe they feel their loved ones' "presence". There's no pain or worry or any of that. You're gone, but while people who loved you are still around, you're still in their thoughts and they still associate things with you enough that you're "with" them. That's nice. I don't think that's silly.

Yeah.

Religious reasons. Personal reasons.

But also, when I was I kid, I always thought when we would die, we would really wake up, in some white space pod thing, and there we would start again, but it would be different. I never thought much about it, beyond the waking up. I also was fixated with Anubis weighing hearts against a feather on the Scale of Truth, to see if you were worthy of entering the [nice part] of the after world. but that's just me. We're all energy, so we can't disappear (even if it's just as energy, until the laws of physics are proven differently).

If there's nothing after this, we better make this life sweet as we can, live it up, right? And if there is, well, let's hope that's fun/good too :) (or better, if what you're living now isn't great)

i do and i am not religious.

i believe strongly that energy can never truly be destroyed, it simply changes form. i also believe that ceasing to exist sounds much too easy to be true. i think there is an afterlife but i don't think it's what we've all been led to believe. i think it's just another level of existence with new challenges to deal with. the work never truly ends.

Have you ever gone looking for a particular kind of fic, but ended up reading something entirely opposite to what you were looking for?

I was looking for a Hurt/Comfort BDSM fic and came across one that wasn't even remotely anything to do with BDSM - and I got annoyed enough that I was curious to read what it was about and ended up reading a fic about four people being kidnapped and surviving a torture-science-experiment (which I ended up getting really absorbed into it and enjoyed reading it in the end)
