Bleh. Feeling hormonal, depressed, tired, and cold. Ran a bunch of errands for my mother earlier, but other than that I've been watching tv on my computer and reading Tumblr most of the day. Spent a little time with my kitty earlier before she got engrossed in bird watching. Plan on going to bed early. May take a hot bath soon.

Power has been out since noon. Was supposed to be fixed at 3:30 now they're saying 5 or 6. So that sucks. On the plus side I've gotten more reading done than expected... Less work though.

It was okay even though it's too fucking hot, but I took my dad to have lunch with a mate of his, got home from dropping him off, and mum's gone somewhere, and I had a milkshake so I'm a bit keyed up, and I'm having a super tiny little freakout to be honest

I can handle being alone! I am totally capable of that! But I need some warning! I need to know where people are and when they're coming back! I do not think this is wildly unreasonable!!!

I was woken up at 3:30 am by a rat in my bathroom. Still no idea how it got in, especially as it couldn't find its own way out. I shut the bathroom door at 5:00 after trying to catch it or get my cat to catch it, barely drifted off, and my alarm woke me at 6:00.

When I got home from work 12 hours later it was still there. I did my evening chores and then spent 40 minutes cornering the damn thing. Finally trapped it under the plunger and slid a CD case underneath, then let it go outside. If it gets in again, I'll shut the door to keep the cat out and leave a trap in all night.

I'm working 6 days in a row this week and we're letting the public in for the first time since March. I am so fucking tired. My back is killing me.

Clothes shopping

Do you love it or hate it? Do you buy specific pieces to fit your wardrobe/a purpose, or do you have more of a magpie approach? What are your go to colors?

Both. I love the idea of it and often have things in mind I want to buy. But those things either never exist or only exist in very expensive shops.

Hate it. Only kind of shopping I like is book/dvd shopping.

I'm usually shopping with specific things in mind when I clothes shop.

Go-to colors are reds, neutrals (especially black and grey), autumn colors, and dark-range colors like navy, burgundy, and forest green.

Love actually having enough money to even consider shopping, an increasingly rare event for my broke ass but yes, there's something magical about strutting around the mirrors in high end suit stores.

'Magpie' indeed with colors ala black and white. Monochrome pop.

Not big on it. I just don't like spending a bunch of time trying on multiple outfits or whatnot. I just want to go in, find clothes that fit me and all that good stuff, and then get out.

I like buying clothes, but I loathe trying them on. Dear god I wish I could just hold things up and know they'd fit.

I definitely have a magpie approach and honestly, most of the time I probably look like I got dressed in the dark, lol. I wish I had some fashion sense. In order to offset that, I do tend to default to leggings/jeans in neutral/dark colours so that I can "match" it with my crazy tops/dresses etc.

I love clothes shopping, because I love fashion.

I definitely have more of a magpie approach. I genuinely like clothes shopping as an activity, so it doesn't bother me to spend a bunch of time shopping and not actually buy anything. I tend to figure out what I want and then sit back and wait for it to go on sale. Even if it takes a few months for a sale, I usually don't mind waiting.

I don't really have go-to colors. I love brights, and they tend to look better on me than pastels or jewel tones. Brights and neutrals are my preference.

I do hate shopping for work clothes, though. There's just no pleasure in it for me.

I hate shopping for clothes with friends or family, but I don't mind it when I'm by myself.

I tend to buy so much black with the exception of jeans. Although if I do buy other colors of clothing I go for the darker colors instead of anything bright.
I've been buying most of my shoes & clothes second-hand because they're just cheaper than full price (I got lucky last time I went to the next town over, because it's pretty much near a 'rich' area - a lot of good quality stuff got thrown out during lockdown and I managed to get so much for under £20).
