This is a longshot on account that it's kind of an obscure series but I *love* The Vineart War books. I joke that it's 'Harry Potter for alcoholics and kinksters'. Anyway, are there are any other well written wizard-themed book series aimed at adults that anyone would recommend?

Songs With a Very Specific Vibe

I'm looking for songs to listen to while I exercise that have a vibe of... 'I'm trying to improve myself even though it sucks'?
Playlist currently includes The Mountain Goats 'This Year', Bleachers 'I Wanna Get Better', Quiet Company 'We Should Go To Counseling', Mother Mother 'Body', The Struts 'Could've Been Me'... I guess that's about it.
I know some of those are more than a bit of a stretch but that's why I'm looking for recs!

Finished a fantasy noir short for a contest. Then finished a bodysnatcher short for another contest. Going to start a demi-zombie short for a different contest.

I had some really fun ideas for a HP fic that's basically 'my OC in HP's place', and it's taken on a bit of a life of its own and run off in some strange new directions.
Right now, Quirrell and Voldemort have abducted OC!Harry and are living in Canada, and I'm working out how things go down at Hogwarts over the next couple of years. Fun twist - things actually go a little better with the whole Chamber of Secrets business because when Ginny dumps the Diary into the toilet, there's no Harry there to fish it back out!
I'm having trouble working out what to name a small private magical school for girls in Canada. It's in remote British Columbia, the building was built by a French wizard but it was turned into a school by a Brit. I might just go with some obscure saint, there's heaps of those to pick from.

Prepping my NaNo project :)

Alternative universe, sci-if, psychic powers, odd-couple detective story. I honestly haven't decided if it's also going to be a romance yet. It feels a little freeing to not be thinking about smut all the time.
