I have three: tragic hero who is seduced/corrupted by a villain into becoming a villain him/herself, redemption arc for a villain that actually works, and heroic sacrifice where a hero sacrifices him or herself in some way for others (especially where hero survives and has to heal from the trauma they endured).

Undying loyalty, whether it's romantic or platonic. Though the 'I love this person despite all the terrible things they've done' in a romantic sense just HITS ME SO GOOD. I love it. Give me that morally dubious unconditional love.

I love a good redemption arc. I'll read redemption stories for basically anyone - Voldemort? Yep. Hannibal Lecter? Lay it on me. Cersei Lannister? I'll give it a shot. Syndrome? ...you're gonna have to work really hard for that one, but I'd be interested to see it.
I mean, they have to actually involve the person making an active choice to not do evil shit, not just going 'They had a tragic backstory all along which justifies their dickery!' but yeah.

I also love dramatic irony, especially from outsider POV (like when we get to see the main characters from the perspective of random bystanders, I love that shit) (also when this happens in crossover fic so like, the Avengers meet the Sailor Scouts and are just like ???????!?). I super fucking love 'Mugging The Monster', you know that thing where some nobody tries to attack or rob or otherwise inconvenience a character who's a surprise badass? I wanna inject that one right into my veins I love it so much.

Damsel in distress where a woman has to be rescued and is completely helpless and needs men to do all the work or the woman just needs to be rescued all the time.

Whatever it's called where people decide keep a secret for [important reason that is stupid], but keeping the secret inevitably creates more problems than telling people the truth to begin with.

I hate that as a plot and it's in so many things.

When a pairing is set up to be "true love" and obvious, stupid roadblocks keep coming up like "Oh, they don't know they love each other, now he loves her but she doesn't know, now she knows but he has a girlfriend, now he got her fired so she hates him, oh now she's forgiven him BUT"

It's exhausting and moreover proves that they just shouldn't get together because it's not worth the trouble.

Happily ever after with kids. Blergh. I get it's popular, I get lots of people like it, and if you like it that's cool, I'm not knocking that. But I hate that a good chunk of the time if I'm into a het-ship(and some m/m ships) it comes with kids at the end no matter what.

But I am also very much not into kids irl so I am somewhat of a curmudgeon about that.
