Clamavi De Profundis creates music for canon songs from Tolkien's works, and their stuff is really good. But they've really outdone themselves with their latest. They've put to music the music magic battle between Sauron and an elf named Finrod.

It is pretty amazing. The music changes depending on who is currently singing: during Sauron's music spells the music is low and darker while for Finrod the music is higher and more hopeful.

WarnerMedia is dropping every movie intended for theatrical release onto HBO Max in 2021 concurrently with theaters.

This happened a few days ago, but American Girl hosted a charity auction with three one of a kind dolls. The proceeds of the auction go to a charity for first responders. The auction closed and one of the dolls sold for over $500,000 (the other two sold for $200,000 and $182,000). Has anyone ever started to ship something thanks to a Youtube vid?



Thanks to the vid I posted above, I've started to crackship Sauron/Finrod and it is edging towards serious. Music magic in this book scene has always intrigued me, and this song just makes it kind of mysterious in almost sexy way. It kind of gives these two enemy ship chemistry. Oops.

Oh yeah, last one was Pharm and Dean from Until We Meet Again. There's a very romantic scene with kissing and these long flowing curtains. Needless to say, I found the series on some sketchy website and watched it. (It was much less cinematic and romantic than the clips in the fmv I watched made it seem. So much product placement)

All those videos of Dean and Cas staring at each other made me ship Destiel before I ever watched Supernatural. Then I watched it and was rather let down that the subtext wasn't as overt as the videos made it out to be.

Mresundance basically got me into BBC Sherlock and Johnlock. I watched his(?) deliciously weird Whole New Way vid, and his beautifully tender Of Paradox vid, and between the two of them, they were what got me to watch the series (this was just after S2 had come out).

I can't find the video but I got into Light/L watching a death note AMV with the song Sugarcube by Porcelain and the Tramps.

Also I got into Supernatural and Destiel because of the fan songs 'Hold Me Close' and 'Bluebird'.

The majority of mech franchise ships. An admittedly shallow, purely rooted in fetish reason: why ship a pilot with another pilot... when you could instead ship the pilot with their mech? Zone of the Enders and Neon Genesis Evangelion are great examples for this - the machines are all so much more sexy than any of the people.

Also pretty much any and all Dark Souls 3 ships. I don't know why Dark Souls 1 and 2 have such great fandoms... and then there's Dark Souls 3 that just bites with fanfic/fanart.

Almost all of the pairings I can be bothered to hate these days are rival pairings, and I hate them for exactly the reason you'd think. The idea of my OTP with other people is like nails on a chalkboard to me.

I'm not sorry about it, but I also don't go around crapping on rival ships. They may make my lip curl, but I keep it to myself. Or, if I'm asked about pairings I hate, I'll straight up say it's because they're rival ships.

Science husbands, Tony and Bruce. It's always boring.

Dean and Sam. The childhood flashbacks don't let me enjoy it - too kinky.

Mycroft and John. It breaks two of my ships and doesn't make sense imo.

Trip and Archer, Tony and Rohdes, Shawn and Gus. They have friends energy, so these 3 ships annoy me.

Still to this day, Harry/Hermione. I've gotten over people's preferences and understand/know that canon doesn't always mean better. My reason comes from sheer pettiness. Back in the mid 00's I was in a Kpop fandom and was involved with a friend group of about a 20(ish) people.

Eventually one of the other girls built a dislike for me and never confronted me about it. We followed each other on MySpace and she began posting Notes with rambles about how she hoped for Harry/Hermione to be canon because Hermione was too good for Ron.
It was obviously a dig at me because at a nonKpop forum I had written a soapbox about how I shipped Ron/Hermione and Harry/Ginny, and more specifically it was pretty obvious from JKR's writings Harry and Hermione's relationship had always been platonic and all the romance potential had always been between Ron and Hermione (IMO it became SUPER obvious in Goblet of Fire).

I was hurt because I thought she was very nice and funny, and I wasn't aware of anything I could have done to her that it would have her not like me and be such a colossal chickenshit bitch to me in such an immature manner. Like, if she hated me so much she could have unfriended/unfollowed me and left it there.

Looking back, she probably didn't like how brash I could be at times (which is fair) and I also think she hated how at the nonKpop forum (which was a lot smaller than the Kpop forum but it was very active) I was a BNF and my friend group contained mostly BNFs too.

Prior to the Myspace post I had no idea said Hater visited the nonKpop forum. One of my friends that was active at the Kpop forum as well as the nonKpop forum confirmed my suspicions that said Hater lurked at our nonKpop forum for the fics. I'm pretty sure said Hater made friends with some girls at the nonKpop forum who didn't like me and my friend group and those girls talked a lot of shit about me and my friends, which I was also pretty unaware of for a long time.

One of the nonKpop Haters made this whole spew in a rant thread about people asslicking my friend group when I left for awhile and returned a couple months later (when I returned some forum members were posting replies in threads my friends and I were posting in "OMG [Anon], you're back!"). I was like "Um...who are you?"

Then one of my friends who was prone to snooping around for gossip/drama filled me in that said nonKpop Hater had been harvesting a hate boner for our friend group because she thought she was a better writer than us and yet our friend group got more hits and comments on our fics and the threads that were our "hang out corners". I found it hilarious because I really had no idea I took up so much space in some people's heads rent free.

Whoa, didn't mean to rant. Hadn't thought about that mess in over a decade. But yeah, whenever "Harry/Hermione should have been canon/is a better ship" comes up I'm just filled with this rage of "UGH GOD GET THE FUCK OVER IT".

Pretty sure it's not really the ship that makes me so mad. Like, if she didn't like me, fine, whatever, she was free to go on and live her life with her feelings toward me, but why the fuck was she so fucking pressed about what I did and said (and not even any comments I made toward her)?

If she disliked me so much to the point where she wanted to call me out why the fuck didn't she come to me personally? Was she baiting me to call her out? LMFAO Bitch, you weren't worth the effort for me to get everyone else involved. I had suspicions and realized that in the weeks before her Myspace Notes she'd ignore my comments at the Kpop forum and when I pieced it together I left her the fuck alone.

Anyway, TL;DR: I hate Harry/Hermione for petty fandom drama reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with the HP fandom.

Destiel just because I don't buy it that they have anything in common enough to relate nor any reason to admire the other's differences in a way that seems in character, I don't think it's consistent, and I watch for spookiness and platonic family drama so it kind of screws up everything I'm watching for.

Sterek because even if the ship is pretty much dead and people have wandered off, the fans were active when I was most active in fandom and they were so loud, deluded and obnoxious.

I used to hate Scully/Skinner because I was and am a huge shipper (of MSR of course) but I don't hate it anymore. I'm just uninterested.

Oh, I despise Spock/Uhura because I think it treats Uhura as a trophy and I don't like the changes that they've made to either character in the new movies. Plus, Uhura/Scotty was such a pleasant, cracky surprise and I probably lean toward old fashioned K/S if I have to pick a side.

Basically I don't like pairings that feel forced and I don't like shippers that are loud and intrusive.

Harry/Draco has always rubbed me the wrong way - mostly because I hate bully/victim dynamics.

For Hetalia it was America/England - which I'm kind of grateful for since the shippers were the first of many reasons I ended up leaving the fandom for.

Honestly, any ship where the characters are parent/child or coded parent/child, or mentor/student where they start adult/child. I do recognize that there are gray areas, but I just can't when the adult starts looking at the child sexually, even when the child is aged up to adult themselves. The established dynamic makes me nope out of there.

And of course, any ship where a person ends up with their abuser. And again, there are some gray areas, but when it's objectively awful, I just hate it. Especially when there's only woobification and zero redemption or even remorse.

What movie or show have you watched the most times?

It's probably Frasier for myself. Back when I watched TV, it was on all the time, year after year, and was easy to just fall asleep to.
